The post Taylor Swift Sweeps 2023 MTV VMAs With Nine Wins appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>Swift’s “Anti-Hero” was one of the songs nominated for the night’s main award, along with, Doja Cat’s “Attention”, Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers”, Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl”, Olivia Rodrigo’s “Vampire”, Sam Smith and Kim Petras’ “Unholy”, and SZA’s “Kill Bill”.
Swift managed to beat tough competition to win this trophy with “Anti-Hero”, along with the song of the year, best pop, best direction, best visual effects, best editing, and best cinematography. She also collected the trophy for artist of the year, show of the summer with The Eras Tour, and album of the year with Midnights.
Swift was just one award away from breaking Peter Gabriel’s all-time record for most MTV VMAs won in a single year. She also reached the second spot on the VMAs leaderboard with 23 awards, behind Beyoncé with 25—not counting two with Destiny’s Child and an additional two as part of The Carters.
The list of major winners also included Ice Spice (best new artist), Blackpink (group of the year), and Karol G and Shakira’s “TQG” (best collaboration). The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards took place in Newark, New Jersey on September 12, with Nicki Minaj hosting the show.

]]>Minaj has been revealed as the ceremony’s MC, which basically means she’ll be announcing the show’s star-studded lineup of performers, presenters, and winners. She did the same job last year alongside LL Cool J and Jack Harlow, but she’ll do it all on her own this time around.
The hip-hop star will also perform her newly-released single “Last Time I Saw You”, and she’s only one of several recently announced MTV VMAs performers. Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Fall Out Boy, Peso Pluma, and Olivia Rodrigo will also grace the stage at this award show.
This year’s MTV VMAs will also include medleys from the honorary award recipients Shakira and Diddy. The list of previously announced performers includes Doja Cat, Demi Lovato, Anitta, Kelsea Ballerini, Måneskin, and Tomorrow X Together, among others.
The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards will take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on September 12, with Taylor Swift leading the list of nominees.

]]>MTV VMAs have traditionally been hosted by solo performers, ranging from Doja Cat and Keke Palmer to Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus, but the organizers are taking a different approach this year. The hosting trio will share responsibility for introducing the night’s biggest moments, performers, presenters, and winners.
In addition to hosting the show, Nicki Minaj will also be one of its biggest honorees, since she’s set to receive the Video Vanguard Award and perform a medley of her biggest hits.
“Nicki has broken barriers for women in hip-hop with her versatility and creative artistry. She has shifted the music industry and cemented her status as a global superstar with her crossover appeal, genre-defying style, and continuing to be unapologetically Nicki,” said MTV’s Bruce Gillmer.
Minaj’s co-host LL Cool J is no stranger to receiving Video Vanguard Award since he took it home all the way back in 1997. As for Jack Harlow, he came into the ceremony as one of the most nominated artists, with nods in eight different categories.
The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards will be held on August 28 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

]]>Lizzo is currently taking the world by storm with her summer anthem “About Damn Time”, but she’s actually expected to perform her new single “2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)” at this award show. Jack Harlow’s inclusion also makes total sense since he’s one of the night’s most nominated artists, but he’s yet to announce his song choice.
K-pop girl band Blackpink will hit the stage with a live rendition of their upcoming single “Pink Venom”, set to be released on August 19. Italian band Måneskin is in the running for the best artist award, and they’re set to perform their latest single “Supermodel”.
The list of performers at this year’s MTV VMAs will also include Anitta, J Balvin, Marshmello x Khalid, Panic! at the Disco, and Kane Brown. Nicki Minaj will hit the stage with the medley of her biggest hits after receiving the honorary Vanguard Award.

]]>The post 2022 MTV VMAs: Lil Nas X, Jack Harlow & Kendrick Lamar Top Nominations appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow owe most of their nominations to their collaboration “Industry Baby”, which has been nominated for video and song of the year, best collaboration, direction, art direction, choreography, and visual effects. Bot Lil Nas X and Harlow are also in the running for artist of the year.
Unlike the “Industry Baby” duo, Kendrick Lamar isn’t in the running for any of the night’s main awards, but that didn’t stop him from scoring seven nominations. The list of major contenders at this year’s MTV VMAs also includes Doja Cat and Harry Styles with six nods each, and Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd with five. The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards will take place on August 30, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. It’s still unclear how exactly the ceremony will look like, but it’s expected to feature performances from various iconic locations throughout Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island, as a way of honoring the spirit and resilience of New York.
Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande topped this year’s list of nominations with nine nods each. The two singers mostly owe their success to the chart-topping collaboration “Rain on Me”, which is in the running for seven awards, including video of the year.

Most notably, his song “N95” is in the running for best hip-hop, but he also scored multiple nominations with “The Heart Part 5” and Baby Keem collaboration “Family Ties”.
