The Weeknd won Video of the Year and Best R&B awards with “Blinding Lights”. K-pop band BTS dominated several categories with their song “On”, including Best Group, Best Pop, Best K-Pop, and Best Choreography.
MTV Video Music Awards were aired virtually on August 30th from several locations in New York, with Keke Palmer serving as a host.

]]>Swift walked away with the biggest award of the night (video of the year) thanks to her star-studded LGBT-friendly visual for the catchy track “You Need to Calm Down”. This song also came out victorious in the category video for good, and Swift managed to scoop the best visual effects trophy for her Brendon Urie collaboration, “ME!”.
Ariana Grande was also one of the biggest winners of the night and collected the coveted artist of the year award. Her Social House collaboration, “Boyfriend,” was named as the song of the summer, while “7 Rings” won the best art direction category. The list of Billie Eilish’s awards includes best new artist, push artist of the year, and best editing for “Bad Guy”.
This year’s MTV VMA Awards took place on August 26th at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey with Sebastian Maniscalco serving as a host.
