Taylor Swift came into this year’s MTV Video Music Awards as the most-nominated artist and still managed to exceed our wildest expectations. She walked away with nine out of eleven awards she was nominated for, including the coveted video of the year with “Anti-Hero”.

Swift’s “Anti-Hero” was one of the songs nominated for the night’s main award, along with, Doja Cat’s “Attention”, Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers”, Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl”, Olivia Rodrigo’s “Vampire”, Sam Smith and Kim Petras’ “Unholy”, and SZA’s “Kill Bill”.

Swift managed to beat tough competition to win this trophy with “Anti-Hero”, along with the song of the year, best pop, best direction, best visual effects, best editing, and best cinematography. She also collected the trophy for artist of the year, show of the summer with The Eras Tour, and album of the year with Midnights.

Swift was just one award away from breaking Peter Gabriel’s all-time record for most MTV VMAs won in a single year. She also reached the second spot on the VMAs leaderboard with 23 awards, behind Beyoncé with 25—not counting two with Destiny’s Child and an additional two as part of The Carters.

The list of major winners also included Ice Spice (best new artist), Blackpink (group of the year), and Karol G and Shakira’s “TQG” (best collaboration). The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards took place in Newark, New Jersey on September 12, with Nicki Minaj hosting the show.

We’re currently counting the hours until the MTV VMAs, and the more we learn about the ceremony, the more excited we are! The final round of performers has been announced, including Nicki Minaj, who’ll also serve as the ceremony’s host for the second year in a row.

Minaj has been revealed as the ceremony’s MC, which basically means she’ll be announcing the show’s star-studded lineup of performers, presenters, and winners. She did the same job last year alongside LL Cool J and Jack Harlow, but she’ll do it all on her own this time around.

The hip-hop star will also perform her newly-released single “Last Time I Saw You”, and she’s only one of several recently announced MTV VMAs performers. Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Fall Out Boy, Peso Pluma, and Olivia Rodrigo will also grace the stage at this award show.

This year’s MTV VMAs will also include medleys from the honorary award recipients Shakira and Diddy. The list of previously announced performers includes Doja Cat, Demi Lovato, Anitta, Kelsea Ballerini, Måneskin, and Tomorrow X Together, among others.

The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards will take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on September 12, with Taylor Swift leading the list of nominees.

This year’s MTV Video Music Awards are just a week away, and another honorary recipient has just been announced. The hip-hop legend Sean “Diddy” Combs will walk away with the prestigious Golden Icon Award at the MTV VMAs ceremony next week.

Diddy is following in the footsteps of the rock bands Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters, who collected this honorary award in the past two years and performed the medley of their biggest hits at the ceremony. This honor shouldn’t be confused with the Video Vanguard Award, which serves as the MTV VMAs’ lifetime achievement award and is being given to Shakira this year.

The Global Icon Award was originally introduced as a part of MTV Europe Music Awards, and it celebrates an artist whose career and continued influence have achieved a unique level of global success. Now’s better time than ever to reward Diddy with this accolade since his first solo album in years The Love Album: Off the Grid will hit the shelves on September 15.

Diddy also received four more nominations for his work on songs “Creepin” (Remix) ft. Metro Boomin, The Weeknd, and 21 Savage and “Gotta Move On” ft.  Bryson Tiller, Ashanti, and Yung Miami. He’ll serve as one of the performers at this year’s MTV VMAs, taking place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on September 12.

The MTV Video Music Awards are just around the corner, and Shakira will be one of the show’s shiniest stars. The Colombian singer will walk away with one of the ceremonies’ most prestigious accolades – the honorary Video Vanguard Award.

Bruce Gillmer, Paramount’s president of music, music talent, programming, and events, announced Shakira as the latest recipient of this prestigious award. He called her “a trailblazer for women around the world” and added that “her massive impact across the musical landscape will be long-lasting as she continues to create and entertain at the highest level.”

Shakira will make history as the first South American artist to win the Video Vanguard Award. This award is meant to honor trailblazing performers who had a profound impact on the modern music industry, and the list of its most recent recipients includes Nicki Minaj, Missy Elliott, and Jennifer Lopez.

Now’s a better time than ever for Shakira to collect this award, since she’s been on top of her game in 2023. After kicking things off with the viral hit “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53”, she gave us amazing songs “Acróstico”, “Copa Vacía” ft. Manuel Turizo, and Karol G’s “TQG”. She’ll perform the medley of her biggest hits when MTV Video Music Awards return to the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on September 12.

This year’s MTV Video Music Awards are just around the corner and we finally know who’ll be in charge of hosting the festivities. LL Cool J, Nicki Minaj, and Jack Harlow will share emceeing duties at this highly-anticipated awards ceremony.

MTV VMAs have traditionally been hosted by solo performers, ranging from Doja Cat and Keke Palmer to Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus, but the organizers are taking a different approach this year. The hosting trio will share responsibility for introducing the night’s biggest moments, performers, presenters, and winners.

In addition to hosting the show, Nicki Minaj will also be one of its biggest honorees, since she’s set to receive the Video Vanguard Award and perform a medley of her biggest hits.

“Nicki has broken barriers for women in hip-hop with her versatility and creative artistry. She has shifted the music industry and cemented her status as a global superstar with her crossover appeal, genre-defying style, and continuing to be unapologetically Nicki,” said MTV’s Bruce Gillmer.

Minaj’s co-host LL Cool J is no stranger to receiving Video Vanguard Award since he took it home all the way back in 1997. As for Jack Harlow, he came into the ceremony as one of the most nominated artists, with nods in eight different categories.

The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards will be held on August 28 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

2022 MTV Video Music Awards are less than two weeks away and the list of performers is getting more impressive by the day. Blackpink, Jack Harlow, Lizzo, and Måneskin are the latest acts to join the ever-growing MTV VMAs lineup.

Lizzo is currently taking the world by storm with her summer anthem “About Damn Time”, but she’s actually expected to perform her new single “2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)” at this award show. Jack Harlow’s inclusion also makes total sense since he’s one of the night’s most nominated artists, but he’s yet to announce his song choice.

K-pop girl band Blackpink will hit the stage with a live rendition of their upcoming single “Pink Venom”, set to be released on August 19. Italian band Måneskin is in the running for the best artist award, and they’re set to perform their latest single “Supermodel”.

The list of performers at this year’s MTV VMAs will also include Anitta, J Balvin, Marshmello x Khalid, Panic! at the Disco, and Kane Brown. Nicki Minaj will hit the stage with the medley of her biggest hits after receiving the honorary Vanguard Award.

The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards are taking place on August 28 in New Jersey’s Prudential Center in Newark.

The MTV Video Music Awards are just a month away, and we finally know who’ll be in the running for this prestigious award. The list of nominees is in and Lil Nas X, Jack Harlow, and Kendrick Lamar are leading the way with seven nominations each.

Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow owe most of their nominations to their collaboration “Industry Baby”, which has been nominated for video and song of the year, best collaboration, direction, art direction, choreography, and visual effects. Bot Lil Nas X and Harlow are also in the running for artist of the year.

Unlike the “Industry Baby” duo, Kendrick Lamar isn’t in the running for any of the night’s main awards, but that didn’t stop him from scoring seven nominations. Most notably, his song “N95” is in the running for best hip-hop, but he also scored multiple nominations with “The Heart Part 5” and Baby Keem collaboration “Family Ties”.

The list of major contenders at this year’s MTV VMAs also includes Doja Cat and Harry Styles with six nods each, and Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd with five. The winners will be announced at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 28 at New Jersey’s Prudential Center in Newark.

Taylor Swift is fresh off another landmark year and the MTV Video Music Awards voters have certainly been paying attention. The “Anti-Hero” singer is in the running for eight awards at this ceremony, including video of the year and song of the year.

Swift’s self-directed video for “Anti-Hero” is one of the front-runners for video of the year, but it will have to face tough competition in Doja Cat’s “Attention”, Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers”, Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl”, Olivia Rodrigo’s “Vampire”, Sam Smith and Kim Petras’ “Unholy”, and SZA’s “Kill Bill”.

Most of the same songs are also in the running for song of the year, with the exception of Doja Cat’s “Attention” and Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl”. They have been replaced by Steve Lacy’s “Bad Habit” and Rema and Selena Gomez’s hit collaboration “Calm Down”.

Swift is also one of the artists competing for the artist of the year award, along with Beyoncé, Doja Cat, Karol G, Nicki Minaj, and Shakira. “Anti-Hero” brought her nods in five more categories – best pop, best editing, best direction, best visual effects, and best cinematography.

The list of multi-nominated artists also includes SZA with six nods, plus Doja Cat, Kim Petras, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo, and Sam Smith with five each. The winners will be announced at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on September 12.
