]]>This promising horror film will see a group of misfit teens stumble upon a cursed object, an ancient Aztec Death Whistle. They decide to research the origins of the deadly artifact after finding out that blowing the whistle can summon their future deaths to hunt them down.
Keen (Logan), Sophie Nélisse (Yellowjackets), Yang (Rebel Moon), and White (Wednesday) are set to star alongside Nick Frost (Fighting With My Family). Hardy is directing the movie based on the script written by Owen Egerton, adapted from his own short story of the same name.
Hardy revealed that his next project draws inspiration from classic horrors like The Ring and A Nightmare On Elm Street, with elements of beloved high school movies The Breakfast Club and Donnie Darko, and he’s looking forward to blending these two genres together.
“The premise of Whistle is simple, immediate, and has a fresh, haunting mythology… I’m thrilled to be working with this brilliant young cast to bring this inventive, terrifying, and cinematic new horror to death… I mean life,” said Hardy in a statement.

]]>Frost admitted that it all came down to money as he wasn’t satisfied with the paycheck.
“It was only a little bit, but I was like, [the part’s] really small, the pay’s rubbish … I’ve got a family—I don’t do this for free,” said Frost while adding that he doesn’t regret his decision despite the fact he is a fan of the franchise.
Despite being pressed, Frost didn’t want to specify whether he was offered a role in recent Star Wars movies or one of the television shows developed by Disney.
While Frost decided to reject the Star Wars role, his friend and frequent collaborator Simon Pegg took a different path. Pegg starred as Unkar Plutt in The Force Awakens.
It is safe to say that Nick Frost’s resume didn’t suffer from the lack of Star Wars projects. Lately, he co-created and starred in Amazon Prime’s Truth Seekers while also securing roles in CBS’s Why Women Kill and HBO’s The Nevers.
Frost also took part in several feature films recently, including a lead role in the adaptation of Captain Pugwash and the voice role of Merlin in Scooby-Doo! The Sword and the Scoob!.

]]>Truth Seekers was co-created by Frost and Pegg, who previously appeared in several projects together, most notably Edgar Wright’s Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy. The series centered on a team of paranormal investigators who use DIY devices to track supernatural activities and share their adventures online.
In a video message he shared with his Instagram followers, Frost admitted that the cancellation of the series was a low-blow since the creative team behind it put a lot of effort into it.
“We really put our all into this—our heart and soul, and blood in some cases, so to not come back is really sad for us. It’s a shame. I think we had lots of lovely ghost stories to tell—stories that will remain now untold. If you liked the show, thank you,” said Frost on Instagram.
You can catch season one of Truth Seekers on Amazon Prime.
