Radiohead fans, we have some great news for you. The iconic British rock band just confirmed plans to reissue their acclaimed albums Kid A and Amnesiac. The reissues will be packed into one release, titled Kid A Mnesia, that will contain original records, unreleased music, outtakes, alternate versions, and much more.

Radiohead is reissuing both albums in one go because the tracks from Kid A and Amnesiac were all recorded during the same sessions. The band initially intended to make a double album with Kid A due to the abundance of material, but later changed their mind and released it as a single LP in October 2000. They quickly returned to the leftover material and presented Amnesiac just eight months later.

You can check out the details of the reissue, which will be released November 5, in the band’s Instagram post.

As Rolling Stone points out, some of the most interesting inclusions on Kid A Mnesia will be the studio version of the song “Follow Me Around.” The track never got around to be released in full but the band performed it during live shows in the past.

Also included is “If You Say the Word;” a previously unheard song that was the point of speculation among Radiohead fans for years. The fansite Citizen Insane believes guitarist Ed O’Brien mentioned the track in his diary at one point, referring to it as the “C-Minor Song.”

While announcing Kid A Mnesia, the band shared “If You Say the Word” on YouTube. Hear it below.

Ed went onto explain: “The story starts post the King Of Limbs tour in 2012 when me and my family moved out to Brasil. We had a truly profound experience living in that extraordinary country.

“As our time out there came to an end, we headed home and I found myself inivitively heading for the Welsh hills. With a copy of Walt Whitman’s Leaves Of Glass, a couple of guitars, an amp and some pedals (of course), I rented a cottage in the Cambrian Mountains and the songs that make up the album started to flow out.”

Ed has been promising a solo album since 2016, so his new single is highly-anticipated by Radiohead fans.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame just got fuller!

The musical institution held its annual induction ceremony on Friday night, where it welcomed Janet Jackson, The Cure, Def Leppard, Radiohead, The Zombies, Roxy Music, and Stevie Nicks were welcomed.

Nicks made history as she became the first woman inducted twice, as she is already a member in her capacity as the singer for Fleetwood Mac. “What I am doing is opening up the door for other,” she said during her speech.

Fellow female, Jackson, also issued a challenge to the Hall of Fame, saying: “In 2020, induct more women.”

Janet also paid tribute to her famous family. “As the youngest in my family, I was determined to make it on my own,” she said. “I was determined to stand on my own two feet. But never in a million years did I expect to follow in their footsteps.”

Def Leppard thanked their fans who helped them win the online fan vote. “I think it is a nice badge of honour,” said frontman Joe Elliot. “I don’t think it’s going to make too much difference to many people. It was something that we weren’t overly concerned about until the fan vote thing became a major part of it. The people that really matter to every band are the audience.”

Radiohead’s drummer, Phil Selway, also acknowledged the band’s sometimes aloof demeanour, saying, “We may not be the greatest musicians around and we’re certainly not the most media-friendly of bands. But we have become very adept at being Radiohead. And when that connects with people, it feels amazing.”

Rock on!

A few months ago, a rumor went around that Lana Del Ray had been taken to court over a copyright infringement accusation by Radiohead. The rock band accused the singer of copying their 1993 hit “Creep” in her album track “Get Free” on Lust for Life.

Del Rey later confirmed the rumor on Twitter: “It’s true about the lawsuit. Although I know my song wasn’t inspired by Creep, Radiohead feel it was and want 100% of the publishing – I offered up to 40 over the last few months but they will only accept 100. Their lawyers have been relentless, so we will deal with it in court.”

Things got a little more complicated when Radiohead’s publishers denied the lawsuit and claimed that all that had in fact gone on were “discussions” about crediting Radiohead as co-writers. Ironically, the band had previously been sued by Albert Hammond and Mike Hazlewood, claiming that “Creep” shares a chord progression with The Hollies 1972 hit “The Air That I Breathe.”

The latest news on Lana’s lawsuit is that it might have finally come to an end. During her set at Lollapalooza in Brasil last weekend, fans started to chant for “Get Free,” demanding it as an encore. She responded: “Now that my lawsuit’s over, I guess I can sing that song anytime I want, right?”
