]]>Grande and Gaga will perform their hit due “Rain on Me,” which is from Gaga’s latest album Chromatica. Chromatica has been nominated for seven awards.
This performance will be Grande’s first performance on the show since “God Is a Woman” in 2018. It will be the singers’—who won five VMAs and been nominated 35 times, nine of which are from this year—fifth performance on the show.
What’s amazing is that Grande hasn’t released an album in the past 12 months, but she’s leading nominations for Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, Best Choreography, and Best Collaboration, which were all for “Rain on Me”, and Best Collaboration and Best Music Video From Home for her collaboration with Justin Bieber for “Stuck With U.”
Gaga and Grande join previously announced performances that include Gaga, Miley Cyrus, The Weeknd, Roddy Ricch, BTS, Doja Cat, J Balvin, Maluma, and CNCO. Additional artists are set to be announced in the next few days.
The VMAs will air live on Sunday, August 30.

]]>Little Monsters and Arianators won’t have to wait much longer to hear the single as the singers posted on social media on Friday, May 15 that “Rain on Me” is coming May 22. Lady Gaga’s post read, “#RAINONME WITH @ARIANAGRANDE FRIDAY 5/22, MIDNIGHT ET WORLDWIDE.”
The cover art features an extraterrestrial Gaga in a cave with Grande at the entrance. The song will arrive one week before Chromatica is released on May 29.
Back in March, the “Stupid Love” singer teased a music collab with the “Thank U, Next” singer during an interview with Paper telling the magazine that the single is “a celebration of all the tears.”
“I sat with her and we talked about our lives,” Gaga explained. “It’s two women having a conversation about how to keep going and how to be grateful for what you do.” Gaga officially announced the collaboration in April when she released the album’s tracklist.
