Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga to Perform Together at the VMAs

Lady Gaga and Ariana Gande in "Rain on Me"

The MTV VMAs are set for the end of this month and the latest announcement is that Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga will perform on this year’s show, which will take place at various locations across New York City.

Grande and Gaga will perform their hit due “Rain on Me,” which is from Gaga’s latest album Chromatica. Chromatica has been nominated for seven awards.

This performance will be Grande’s first performance on the show since “God Is a Woman” in 2018. It will be the singers’—who won five VMAs and been nominated 35 times, nine of which are from this year—fifth performance on the show.

What’s amazing is that Grande hasn’t released an album in the past 12 months, but she’s leading nominations for Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, Best Choreography, and Best Collaboration, which were all for “Rain on Me”, and Best Collaboration and Best Music Video From Home for her collaboration with Justin Bieber for “Stuck With U.”

Gaga and Grande join previously announced performances that include Gaga, Miley Cyrus, The Weeknd, Roddy Ricch, BTS, Doja Cat, J Balvin, Maluma, and CNCO. Additional artists are set to be announced in the next few days.

The VMAs will air live on Sunday, August 30.
