]]> The CW is on a somewhat of a cancelation spree right now, and they’re ready to say goodbye to one of their most popular shows. The beloved teen drama Riverdale has been renewed for its seventh season, but it will also be the show’s last.

The CW boss Mark Pedowitz released an official statement announcing the show’s renewal and added they made a decision to end the show after having a long conversation with its creator and executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

“I am a big believer of giving series that have had a long run an appropriate send-off… We are going to treat the show in the manner it deserves. It’s been an iconic pop culture star and we want to make sure that it goes out the right way,” said Pedowitz.

Riverdale was renewed in March and the cancellation of its ultimate cancelation comes shortly after the CW canceled seven shows in a single day just last week, including Dynasty, Charmed, and Legacies.

Riverdale is based on the Archie Comics and follows a group of teens who find themselves entangled in the mysteries of their small town while coming of age. The show premiered on The CW in 2017 and its cast includes KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, and Madelaine Petsch.

With the teenage witch living in the same universe as Archie and his friends, it has long been hoped that Kiernan Shipka’s character would show up in town. Well, that time is almost upon us…

Sabrina will arrive during Riverdale’s upcoming sixth season in the fourth episode that is aptly titled The Witching Hour(s).

“We’ve been talking about having Sabrina visit Riverdale since season 1, so it’s thrilling that this is finally happening, as part of our Rivervale special event,” said showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. “It’s also perfect that she shows up to help Cheryl Blossom during her hour of greatest need. Everyone on set lost their minds — I think fans will, too. It’s really fun and special.”

With Shipka’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina having come to an end in December 2020, fans of the young Wiccan will no doubt be pleased to see her.

]]> There’s a new baby in Riverdale!

Star of the CW drama, KJ Apa, has become a father for the first time. 

In May, he revealed that he and his girlfriend Clara Berry were expecting their first child. The couple initially sparked dating rumors in February 2020 and currently live together in Vancouver, Canada where Riverdale is filmed. 

The French model posted a photograph on her Instagram announcing that she had given birth on September 23. The sweet snap featured a baby’s hands on hers, as well as the name of their son: Sasha Vai Keneti Apa.

Sasha is a Russian name which means “protector of humankind”, while Keneti is KJ’s first name.

“He is a perfect perfection. I am the luckiest to have now two men of my life, filling my heart with this cosmic gigantic vast love,” the new mom wrote in the caption.

We hope they live Apa-ly ever after!

]]> Riverdale star Jordan Connor is officially off the market. Connor, who plays the character Sweet Pea in the popular teen drama, recently announced on social media that he’s a married man after tying the knot with longtime girlfriend and fellow actress Jinjara Mitchell.

According to Brides, the pair said their wedding vows over the weekend in a private ceremony at Long Beach Lodge Resort in British Columbia in front of 50 guests.

“Our vision for the wedding was a beachy boho romantic vibe,” Jordan told the media outlet, which had exclusive access to the wedding. “Seeing it all come together was a dream come true.”

Jordan and Mitchell also shared the happy news with their social media followers, posting matching photos on Instagram.

Jordan Connor and Jinjara Mitchell met in 2012 after they attended an acting class together. They started dating shortly after and eventually got engaged in 2018. The pair originally intended to tie the knot around the same time in 2020 but had to postpone the wedding due to coronavirus pandemic restrictions.

Besides his breakthrough role in Riverdale, Connor is also known for his work on coming-of-age miniseries Looking for Alaska and Canadian drama Nurses.

Mitchell, on the other hand, only had minor roles in the superhero series Arrow and musical comedy Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist.

]]> The CW has given early renewal to 12 of its scripted series.

The shows being renewed are Walker, All American, Batwoman, Charmed, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Dynasty, The Flash, In the Dark, Legacies, Nancy Drew, Riverdale, and Roswell, New Mexico. 

Shows not part of the renewal are Kung Fun, Superman & Lois, and The Republic of Sarah, which haven’t premiered on the CW yet. Stargirl wasn’t renewed by the network either.

The CW has also ordered five additional episodes of Season 1 of Walker and two additional for Superman & Lois, bringing Walker to 18 episodes and Superman & Lois to 15.

“Though we’re just a few weeks into the new season, we wanted to get a strategic head start on next season with these early renewals, which allows our production teams to start laying out story arcs and hiring staff, and at the same time, continues to provide us with a strong, stable schedule to build on for next season,” Mark Pedowitz, chairman and CEO of The CW said in a statement.

The network also has potentinal spinoffs of multiple shows in the works including ones for Black Lightning and All American.

Riverdale was renewed for a fifth season in January.

Ulrich will be in the sci-fi feature BIOS alongside Tom Hanks and in the new Quibi series #FreeRayShawn. Nichols’ next project is in the horror Spiral with Samuel L. Jackson and Chris Rock.

]]> If you were hoping to watch your favorite CW series for another season, we’ve got some great news for you. The network just renewed 13 of their hit shows, including fan-favorites Riverdale, The Flash, and Legacies.

The list of shows that were renewed by The CW also includes All American, Charmed, Dynasty, Roswell, New Mexico, and In the Dark. If you’re looking forward to new seasons of your favorite superhero-themed shows, don’t be alarmed, since they’re also bringing Black Lightning, Supergirl, and DC’S Legends of Tomorrow back.

The CW is also putting full trust in new shows that have been around for only one season. Nancy Drew and Batwoman were both renewed, while the upcoming Riverdale spin-off Katy Keene already received an order for 13 additional scripts.

Mark Pedowitz, president of The CW Television Network, is hoping these early pickups will give writers behind these shows enough time to figure out where they want to take them next. “These early orders for next season give our production teams a head start in plotting out story arcs and a jump on hiring staff, and this also provides us with a strong foundation of established, fan-favorite CW shows to build on for next season,” he said in a statement.

]]> The man behind the Archie comics-based TV universe is hard at work on a new drama pilot for HBO Max. 

HBO’s forthcoming streaming service has just given a pilot order for a new series co-created by Riverdale’s Roberto Aguirre-Sacasand and Riverdale writers Tessa Leigh Williams and James DeWille. The three co-creators Aguirre-Sacasa, Williams and DeWille will also serve as executive producers with Aguirre-Sacasa also serving as showrunner.

The Shelley Society — the newest addition to the gothic horror genre follows a young Mary Shelley and a band of her fellow Romantics as they battle supernatural threats. 

The show marks Aguirre-Sacasa first project under his overall deal with WBTV.

HBO Max is expected to launch in the spring of 2020.

]]> Avengers: Endgame is the most talked-about movie of the year, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that it got several shout-outs during Teen Choice Awards. Marvel’s biggest box office hit to date topped the list of winners at this year’s ceremony, with a total of four awards.

In addition to winning the surfboard for the best action movie of the year, Endgame walked away with additional three awards – best action movie actor and actress (Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson), and best villain (Josh Brolin).

The cast members of Endgame weren’t the only ones celebrating their wins at Teen Choice Awards. Aladdin, After and Spider-Man: Far From Home also did a pretty great job and walked away with three awards each. Riverdale and Stranger Things collected the same number of surfboards in the TV field.

When it comes to the music categories, it was a big night for everyone’s favorite K-pop band BTS, since their devoted fans helped them walk away with three awards. Taylor Swift and Jonas Brothers also had a reason to celebration, after collecting honorary awards.

]]> Avengers: Infinity War topped this year’s list of nominees at Kids’ Choice Awards, so it didn’t come as a surprise to see it winning some of the biggest awards of the night. The superhero flick took home a total of two awards, including favorite movie.

Infinity War had strong competition in box office hits Aquaman and Black Panther but still managed to come out victorious. Robert Downey Jr., who spent a decade playing Iron-Man in the MCU, won the award for favorite superhero, beating the likes of Chadwick Boseman, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson.

When it comes to the music field, Ariana Grande unsurprisingly collected the most impressive number of awards. In addition to being named best favorite female artist, she also won the award for favorite song with “Thank U, Next.” Fuller House and Riverdale were the biggest winners in the TV categories.

This year’s Kids’ Choice Awards took place at the Galen Center in Los Angeles on March 23, with DJ Khaled serving as a host.

]]> The CW is on a somewhat of a cancelation spree right now, and they’re ready to say goodbye to one of their most popular shows. The beloved teen drama Riverdale has been renewed for its seventh season, but it will also be the show’s last.

The CW boss Mark Pedowitz released an official statement announcing the show’s renewal and added they made a decision to end the show after having a long conversation with its creator and executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

“I am a big believer of giving series that have had a long run an appropriate send-off… We are going to treat the show in the manner it deserves. It’s been an iconic pop culture star and we want to make sure that it goes out the right way,” said Pedowitz.

Riverdale was renewed in March and the cancellation of its ultimate cancelation comes shortly after the CW canceled seven shows in a single day just last week, including Dynasty, Charmed, and Legacies.

Riverdale is based on the Archie Comics and follows a group of teens who find themselves entangled in the mysteries of their small town while coming of age. The show premiered on The CW in 2017 and its cast includes KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, and Madelaine Petsch.

With the teenage witch living in the same universe as Archie and his friends, it has long been hoped that Kiernan Shipka’s character would show up in town. Well, that time is almost upon us…

Sabrina will arrive during Riverdale’s upcoming sixth season in the fourth episode that is aptly titled The Witching Hour(s).

“We’ve been talking about having Sabrina visit Riverdale since season 1, so it’s thrilling that this is finally happening, as part of our Rivervale special event,” said showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. “It’s also perfect that she shows up to help Cheryl Blossom during her hour of greatest need. Everyone on set lost their minds — I think fans will, too. It’s really fun and special.”

With Shipka’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina having come to an end in December 2020, fans of the young Wiccan will no doubt be pleased to see her.

]]> There’s a new baby in Riverdale!

Star of the CW drama, KJ Apa, has become a father for the first time. 

In May, he revealed that he and his girlfriend Clara Berry were expecting their first child. The couple initially sparked dating rumors in February 2020 and currently live together in Vancouver, Canada where Riverdale is filmed. 

The French model posted a photograph on her Instagram announcing that she had given birth on September 23. The sweet snap featured a baby’s hands on hers, as well as the name of their son: Sasha Vai Keneti Apa.

Sasha is a Russian name which means “protector of humankind”, while Keneti is KJ’s first name.

“He is a perfect perfection. I am the luckiest to have now two men of my life, filling my heart with this cosmic gigantic vast love,” the new mom wrote in the caption.

We hope they live Apa-ly ever after!

]]> Riverdale star Jordan Connor is officially off the market. Connor, who plays the character Sweet Pea in the popular teen drama, recently announced on social media that he’s a married man after tying the knot with longtime girlfriend and fellow actress Jinjara Mitchell.

According to Brides, the pair said their wedding vows over the weekend in a private ceremony at Long Beach Lodge Resort in British Columbia in front of 50 guests.

“Our vision for the wedding was a beachy boho romantic vibe,” Jordan told the media outlet, which had exclusive access to the wedding. “Seeing it all come together was a dream come true.”

Jordan and Mitchell also shared the happy news with their social media followers, posting matching photos on Instagram.

Jordan Connor and Jinjara Mitchell met in 2012 after they attended an acting class together. They started dating shortly after and eventually got engaged in 2018. The pair originally intended to tie the knot around the same time in 2020 but had to postpone the wedding due to coronavirus pandemic restrictions.

Besides his breakthrough role in Riverdale, Connor is also known for his work on coming-of-age miniseries Looking for Alaska and Canadian drama Nurses.

Mitchell, on the other hand, only had minor roles in the superhero series Arrow and musical comedy Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist.

]]> The CW has given early renewal to 12 of its scripted series.

The shows being renewed are Walker, All American, Batwoman, Charmed, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Dynasty, The Flash, In the Dark, Legacies, Nancy Drew, Riverdale, and Roswell, New Mexico. 

Shows not part of the renewal are Kung Fun, Superman & Lois, and The Republic of Sarah, which haven’t premiered on the CW yet. Stargirl wasn’t renewed by the network either.

The CW has also ordered five additional episodes of Season 1 of Walker and two additional for Superman & Lois, bringing Walker to 18 episodes and Superman & Lois to 15.

“Though we’re just a few weeks into the new season, we wanted to get a strategic head start on next season with these early renewals, which allows our production teams to start laying out story arcs and hiring staff, and at the same time, continues to provide us with a strong, stable schedule to build on for next season,” Mark Pedowitz, chairman and CEO of The CW said in a statement.

The network also has potentinal spinoffs of multiple shows in the works including ones for Black Lightning and All American.

]]> Two parental figures will be leaving Riverdale after the fourth season.

Skeet Ulrich who plays Jughead Jones’ (Cole Sprouse) father F.P. Jones and Marisol Nichols who plays Hermione Lodge the mother of Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) will be departing the CW teen drama. They have been part of the cast of Riverdale since the first season.

Ulrich commented on his departure via Instagram, “I can’t even begin to thank you all for the unwavering support and love!! It is remarkable and deeply appreciated. I may be leaving Riverdale but my experience over the last four years will never leave my heart. A very special thanks to @writerras for giving me this opportunity.”

Riverdale was renewed for a fifth season in January.

Ulrich will be in the sci-fi feature BIOS alongside Tom Hanks and in the new Quibi series #FreeRayShawn. Nichols’ next project is in the horror Spiral with Samuel L. Jackson and Chris Rock.

]]> If you were hoping to watch your favorite CW series for another season, we’ve got some great news for you. The network just renewed 13 of their hit shows, including fan-favorites Riverdale, The Flash, and Legacies.

The list of shows that were renewed by The CW also includes All American, Charmed, Dynasty, Roswell, New Mexico, and In the Dark. If you’re looking forward to new seasons of your favorite superhero-themed shows, don’t be alarmed, since they’re also bringing Black Lightning, Supergirl, and DC’S Legends of Tomorrow back.

The CW is also putting full trust in new shows that have been around for only one season. Nancy Drew and Batwoman were both renewed, while the upcoming Riverdale spin-off Katy Keene already received an order for 13 additional scripts.

Mark Pedowitz, president of The CW Television Network, is hoping these early pickups will give writers behind these shows enough time to figure out where they want to take them next. “These early orders for next season give our production teams a head start in plotting out story arcs and a jump on hiring staff, and this also provides us with a strong foundation of established, fan-favorite CW shows to build on for next season,” he said in a statement.

]]> The man behind the Archie comics-based TV universe is hard at work on a new drama pilot for HBO Max. 

HBO’s forthcoming streaming service has just given a pilot order for a new series co-created by Riverdale’s Roberto Aguirre-Sacasand and Riverdale writers Tessa Leigh Williams and James DeWille. The three co-creators Aguirre-Sacasa, Williams and DeWille will also serve as executive producers with Aguirre-Sacasa also serving as showrunner.

The Shelley Society — the newest addition to the gothic horror genre follows a young Mary Shelley and a band of her fellow Romantics as they battle supernatural threats. 

The show marks Aguirre-Sacasa first project under his overall deal with WBTV.

HBO Max is expected to launch in the spring of 2020.

]]> Avengers: Endgame is the most talked-about movie of the year, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that it got several shout-outs during Teen Choice Awards. Marvel’s biggest box office hit to date topped the list of winners at this year’s ceremony, with a total of four awards.

In addition to winning the surfboard for the best action movie of the year, Endgame walked away with additional three awards – best action movie actor and actress (Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson), and best villain (Josh Brolin).

The cast members of Endgame weren’t the only ones celebrating their wins at Teen Choice Awards. Aladdin, After and Spider-Man: Far From Home also did a pretty great job and walked away with three awards each. Riverdale and Stranger Things collected the same number of surfboards in the TV field.

When it comes to the music categories, it was a big night for everyone’s favorite K-pop band BTS, since their devoted fans helped them walk away with three awards. Taylor Swift and Jonas Brothers also had a reason to celebration, after collecting honorary awards.

]]> Avengers: Infinity War topped this year’s list of nominees at Kids’ Choice Awards, so it didn’t come as a surprise to see it winning some of the biggest awards of the night. The superhero flick took home a total of two awards, including favorite movie.

Infinity War had strong competition in box office hits Aquaman and Black Panther but still managed to come out victorious. Robert Downey Jr., who spent a decade playing Iron-Man in the MCU, won the award for favorite superhero, beating the likes of Chadwick Boseman, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson.

When it comes to the music field, Ariana Grande unsurprisingly collected the most impressive number of awards. In addition to being named best favorite female artist, she also won the award for favorite song with “Thank U, Next.” Fuller House and Riverdale were the biggest winners in the TV categories.

This year’s Kids’ Choice Awards took place at the Galen Center in Los Angeles on March 23, with DJ Khaled serving as a host.
