Riverdale’s Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa Sets New Drama Pilot at HBO Max

The man behind the Archie comics-based TV universe is hard at work on a new drama pilot for HBO Max. 

HBO’s forthcoming streaming service has just given a pilot order for a new series co-created by Riverdale’s Roberto Aguirre-Sacasand and Riverdale writers Tessa Leigh Williams and James DeWille. The three co-creators Aguirre-Sacasa, Williams and DeWille will also serve as executive producers with Aguirre-Sacasa also serving as showrunner.

The Shelley Society — the newest addition to the gothic horror genre follows a young Mary Shelley and a band of her fellow Romantics as they battle supernatural threats. 

The show marks Aguirre-Sacasa first project under his overall deal with WBTV.

HBO Max is expected to launch in the spring of 2020.
