The Wonder Woman fans have been patiently awaiting the sequel to this movie for quite some time, and they’ll have to wait a little bit longer. Due to slow theater re-openings, the release date of this superhero flick has been delayed once more, this time to Christmas.

Director Patty Jenkins released an official statement on behalf of herself and Gal Gadot, thanking all the devoted Wonder Woman fans around the world for eagerly awaiting to reunite with Diana Prince.

“Because I know how important it is to bring this movie to you on a big screen when all of us can share the experience together, I’m hopeful you won’t mind waiting just a little bit longer. With the new date on Christmas Day, we can’t wait to spend the holidays with you!” stated Jenkins.

In addition to Gadot, it will also star Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Kristen Wiig, and Pedro Pascal. Just as the title suggests, the film will take place in 1984 and will show Wonder Woman as she faces two formidable foes—media mogul Maxwell Lord and friend-turned-enemy Barbara Minerva/Cheetah.

After several major delays, Wonder Woman 1984 is now set to premiere on December 25th.

Wright, who directed several episodes of House of Cards, will be stepping behind the camera for a feature film for the first time.

The HoC alum is set to make her feature directorial debut with Land. HanWay Films has picked up the international sales rights and will commence sales at Cannes.

Wright will also star in the film as Edee Mathis, so consumed by grief that she vows to go off the grid and completely disappear from life as she knows it.

HanWay managing director, Gabrielle Stewart said in a statement, “Robin proved herself a tour de force taking in hand House of Cards as a director as well as its lead actor. She speaks very eloquently and passionately about wanting to tell the story of a woman’s journey through loss and pain, where only by giving herself to nature can she find a path to inner peace and redemption. It is a unique cinematic experience of huge scale, yet speaks to our basic human need for more earthy simplicity in this busy noisy world.”

The film is based on an original screenplay by Jesse Chatham and Golden Globe nominee Liz Hannah.

Production is scheduled to begin this summer in British Columbia.

House of Cards is coming back for its final season in two months, but it will certainly go out with A bang. New teaser just dropped and it shows Claire Underwood talking to her husband’s grave.

Netflix released the short clip on Wednesday, but 20 seconds was all it took to create a lot of buzz. The fact new president is standing on Frank’s grave confirms speculations that Kevin Spacey’s character will be killed off after his firing.

The teaser features Robin Wright delivering the line, “I’ll tell you this though, Francis. When they bury me, it won’t be in my backyard. And when they pay their respects, they’ll have to wait in line.” Claire breaks the fourth wall by saying the last line of dialogue directly into the camera, in a true House of Cards fashion.

Wright took over the lead role after Spacey’s departure. Her character is poised to become the 47th President of the United States in the upcoming season six. Future of the series is in good hands, since she received a Golden Globe and five Emmy nominations for playing this ruthless heroine. We can’t wait to see her get back to work when House of Cards comes back to Netflix on November 2.

The new season of House Of Cards is just around the corner, and we’re constantly getting exciting news about it. Netflix just surprised fans of this political drama by dropping pictures of two new major characters. To make things even better, they’re being played by Hollywood veterans Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear.

Lane and Kinnear will be portraying Annette and Bill Shepherd, who are no strangers to the corrupted world of politics. According to an official press release, these two siblings inherited Shepherd Unlimited, a leading industrial conglomerate whose family foundations exert a powerful behind-the-scenes force in the American political landscape. They share a vision for the future of America, as well as a complicated past with the Underwoods.

American Crime Story star Cody Fern also joined the series as Annette’s son Duncan Shepherd. He’s an ambitious and devoted young man, who represents the next generation of rising power players in Washington. House Of Cards isn’t the only show Fern will be starring in this autumn, since he’s also been cast in American Horror Story: Apocalypse.

The new season of Netflix’s hit series will be available on November 2, but it’ll be much different from House Of Cards we’re used to. Robin Wright will have her turn in the Oval Office after taking over the lead role from the disgraced actor Kevin Spacey.
