The Wonder Woman fans have been patiently awaiting the sequel to this movie for quite some time, and they’ll have to wait a little bit longer. Due to slow theater re-openings, the release date of this superhero flick has been delayed once more, this time to Christmas.

Director Patty Jenkins released an official statement on behalf of herself and Gal Gadot, thanking all the devoted Wonder Woman fans around the world for eagerly awaiting to reunite with Diana Prince.

“Because I know how important it is to bring this movie to you on a big screen when all of us can share the experience together, I’m hopeful you won’t mind waiting just a little bit longer. With the new date on Christmas Day, we can’t wait to spend the holidays with you!” stated Jenkins.

In addition to Gadot, it will also star Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Kristen Wiig, and Pedro Pascal. Just as the title suggests, the film will take place in 1984 and will show Wonder Woman as she faces two formidable foes—media mogul Maxwell Lord and friend-turned-enemy Barbara Minerva/Cheetah.

After several major delays, Wonder Woman 1984 is now set to premiere on December 25th.
