Multiple outlets confirm that Nicki Minaj will be the first to head to Drag Race as a guest judge. 

“Welcome to the Main Stage of RuPaul’s Drag Race! I’m Nicki Minaj, and I pledge allegiance to the drag!” the rap star said in a promotional video shared via Instagram. On Twitter, she captioned the vid with “a dream of mine for so long.”

“Our celebrity guest judges are truly legendary. Our producers have come up with twisted, outrageous challenges that raise the bar for all competition of reality, and this cast of queens is, dare I say, the most talented we’ve ever had. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a fresh crop of queens arrives and blows our minds all over again.”

After showrunner Chris Chibnall confirmed earlier this week that filming of the 12th season of the hit time travel show has officially ended, now we learn that the show has banked some major Brit talent to guest star in the forthcoming season. 

Stephen Fry and Lenny Henry have been confirmed as guest stars on season 12 of Doctor Who.

“It was absolutely brilliant to be welcomed into the fantastical world of Doctor Who,” said Henry. “The nearest I have been to the TARDIS was when I played the Caribbean Doctor in the Lenny Henry Show, so as a lifelong (hiding-behind-the-sofa-type) Doctor Who fan, this is a very special moment for me.”

Fry added, “Short of being picked for a British space exploration program, and I readily concede that I’m past the age where I’d be considered (if I was ever the right age for such a posting), then being in an episode of Doctor Who will certainly do as a very sweet second-place excitement.”

Chibnall added: “Doctor Who is coming back with a bang — with two great British icons in major roles. One of the great joys of Doctor Who is getting to work with actors from your wish list. Stephen and Lenny are two of my absolute favorite actors — and to be able to bring them into Doctor Who, in one of our biggest ever stories to kick off the new season, is an absolute thrill.”

The 36-year-old actress is sticking around for the British science fiction series for at least another season. Whittaker earned widespread praise for her work on Doctor Who, especially her portrayal of the first female Doctor in the show’s 55-year history.

The Hollywood Reporter confirms that the first female Time Lord will return for the upcoming 12th season. Whittaker told the outlet exclusively, “I really can’t wait to step back in and get to work again. It’s such an incredible role. It’s been an extraordinary journey so far and I’m not quite ready to hand it over yet.”

While BBC is keeping under wraps who will play the Doctor in the upcoming season, it is largely presumed that Whittaker, who took on the role after Peter Capaldi’s exit, will stay on as the Doctor from Gallifrey.

According to the outlet, the opening episode of season 11 was the biggest season launch for the show with 10.9 million viewers in the UK.

The Season 11 finale of Doctor Who airs this Sunday. Season 12 is expected to start shooting in early 2019.
