You can’t get enough of Star Wars? Well, besides the upcoming movies, spinoffs, sequels, and prequels, a live-action Star Wars series is coming from Disney. Lucasfilm has announced that Jon Favreau is attached to write and produce the project, which will be featured on Disney’s upcoming streaming service. No further details, including the release date or cast, were revealed.

“I couldn’t be more excited about Jon coming on board to produce and write for the new direct-to-consumer platform,” said Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy in a statement. “Jon brings the perfect mix of producing and writing talent, combined with a fluency in the Star Wars universe. This series will allow Jon the chance to work with a diverse group of writers and directors and give Lucasfilm the opportunity to build a robust talent base.”

This won’t be the first time for Jon Favreau, who directed and starred in movies like Iron Man and The Jungle Book, to step into the Star Wars world. He will play a role in the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story movie, and also provided his voice to Pre Vizsla in animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

“If you told me at 11 years old that I would be getting to tell stories in the Star Wars universe, I wouldn’t have believed you. I can’t wait to embark upon this exciting adventure,” said Favreau in a statement.

The plans for live-action Star Wars series were announced in 2005 before Disney acquired Lucasfilm. George Lucas had plans to make a series set between the prequel and original trilogies. The series had a working title Star Wars: Underworld, and according to one of the producers, more than 50 scripts were written by 2012. The project, however, never came to fruition, and it remains unclear whether these scripts will be used in the upcoming live-action Star Wars series, or it will be based on a completely new idea.
