Disney+ Announces New Star Wars Series

A new animated Star Wars series will land on the Disney+ streaming service next year.

The series will follow a squad of clones known as the Bad Batch. These clones were introduced in The Clone Wars and the series will be produced by Dave Filoni, who also worked on The Mandalorian.

The animated show will be titled Star WarsThe Bad Batch. It will be set in the era following the Clone War and will follow the unique batch of clones on their search for purpose in the galaxy.

Disney+ VP of Content, Agnes Chu, said of the upcoming series: “Giving new and existing fans the final chapter of Star Wars: The Clone Wars has been our honor at Disney+, and we are overjoyed by the global response to this landmark series.

“While the Clone Wars may have come to its conclusion, our partnership with the groundbreaking storytellers and artists at Lucasfilm Animation is only beginning. We are thrilled to bring Dave Filoni’s vision to life through the next adventures of the Bad Batch.”

Star Wars: The Bad Batch will premiere on Disney+ in 2021.
