T-Pain is adding his name to the ever-growing list of celebrities with their own podcasts. The Grammy Award-winning rapper teamed up with the PodcastOne platform and announced the launching of the Nappy Boy Radio podcast on June 3rd.

The project will have T-Pain and his celebrity friends talk about music, sports, gaming, fashion, exotic cars, and more. The guest list includes fellow rapper Lil Jon, former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson, and Jackass star Steve-O.

According to the press release, the podcast will be recorded in T-Pain’s “new state-of-the-art podcast studio” and will be available in both audio and video format.

Explaining the decision to throw his hat into the podcast ring, T-Pain said he was inspired by the intriguing late-night chats he had with his friends. “Too many conversations and interactions I was having with various people kept ending in the same way, with me saying “damn, we should have recorded that” so we decided to do just that,” he said in a statement.

T-Pain is known in the music world as the rapper who popularized auto-tune. He started using the effect in the early 2000s, and the success of his first couple of albums inspired other rappers and musicians to follow.

His most recent studio effort came in 2019 when he released a surprised album 1UP. He recently also took part in the first season of the U.S. version of the reality singing competition The Masked Singer and was crowned the winner.
