The Golden Globes kicked off this year’s awards season with another amazing ceremony. The audience was wondering is this the real life or is this just fantasy at the end of the night, after Bohemian Rhapsody took us by surprise by winning the best drama award.

Everyone who hasn’t been living under arock for the past few months knows A Star Is Born was a front-runner in this year’s race, but that changed last night. Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga walked away empty-handed after their rivals Rami Malek and Glenn Close scored major upset in acting categories.

The rest of the winners’ list was filled with obvious choices. Green Book won the best comedy award, just like everyone predicted. It also came out victorious in additional two categories – best screenplay and best supporting actor (Mahershala Ali).

The TV categories were fairly predictable, with The Kominsky Method and American Crime Story coming on top with two awards each. Drama categories were a pleasant surprise as the final season of The Americans finally ended up being recognized with its first Golden Globe.

The 2018 Emmy Awards proved once again everyone loves rooting for an underdog. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel took the stage by storm at this year’s ceremony, taking home five shinny statues – including the one for the best comedy series. Game of Thrones producers didn’t leave the building empty-handed either, since HBO’s fantasy epic won the award for the best drama.

Mrs. Maisel has beaten the likes of much more popular contenders, including Atlanta and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, to snatch the best comedy prize. It also came out victorious in additional four comedy categories, including best lead and supporting actress (Rachel Brosnahan and Alex Borstein) and best directing and writing (Amy Sherman-Palladino).

The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story was also one of the biggest winners at last night ceremony. It scored three wins – best limited series, best lead actor in a limited series (Darren Criss) and best directing for a limited series (Ryan Murphy).

SNL’s Weekend Update anchors Michael Che and Colin Jost served as hosts at this year’s ceremony. The opening number We Solved It and the monologue that followed were very reminiscent of the sketch show that made them famous.

The Emmys still gave us a couple of amazing moments that weren’t influenced by Saturday Night Live – including a live proposal, Betty White’s surprise appearance, Donald Glover showing up in full costume as creepy character from his show Atlanta, and several amazing speeches we’ll be buzzing about for the next few days.

Ricky Martin is officially a husband. His words, not ours. During the premiere of The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story in which he plays one of the main roles, the 46-year-old Puerto Rican singer revealed he and Syrian-Swedish painter Jwan Yose are married. The news was also confirmed by his publicist to the Associated Press.
After E! News reporter asked him whether he is a “fiancé or a husband”, Martin replied by saying: “I’m a husband, but we’re doing a heavy party in a couple of months, I’ll let you know.”

“We exchanged vows, and we’ve swear everything, and we’ve signed all the papers that we needed to sign, prenups and everything.” – he added. “It feels amazing! I can’t introduce him as my fiancé. I can’t. He’s my husband. He’s my man.”

When asked about the wedding party, the “Livin’ la Vida Loca singer said it will be a three days party with “the dinner, the rehearsal, the party and the recovery” included.

Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef started dating in April 2016 and announced their engagements in November of the same year during an appearance on Ellen DeGeneres Show.

It looks like everything is going great for Ricky Martin lately. He landed his first major acting role in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, which has him playing the part of Antonio D’Amico, Italian model and fashion designer who is best known as the boyfriend of Gianni Versace. The series consisting of 9 episodes will premiere on January 17, 2018, on FX.

Don’t worry, Martin hasn’t been neglecting his music career. He currently has a Las Vegas residency show called All In which began on April 4, 2017, at Park Theater at Monte Carlo Resort and Casino and will last until June 3, 2018.
