“Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Green Book” Win Big at 2019 Golden Globes

Rami Malek and Gwilym Lee in "Bohemian Rhapsody"

The Golden Globes kicked off this year’s awards season with another amazing ceremony. The audience was wondering is this the real life or is this just fantasy at the end of the night, after Bohemian Rhapsody took us by surprise by winning the best drama award.

Everyone who hasn’t been living under arock for the past few months knows A Star Is Born was a front-runner in this year’s race, but that changed last night. Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga walked away empty-handed after their rivals Rami Malek and Glenn Close scored major upset in acting categories.

The rest of the winners’ list was filled with obvious choices. Green Book won the best comedy award, just like everyone predicted. It also came out victorious in additional two categories – best screenplay and best supporting actor (Mahershala Ali).

The TV categories were fairly predictable, with The Kominsky Method and American Crime Story coming on top with two awards each. Drama categories were a pleasant surprise as the final season of The Americans finally ended up being recognized with its first Golden Globe.
