The Lion King does not stop. This weekend saw the live action Disney remake adding 27.3 million dollars to its revenues, reaching a total gross of 1.564 billion dollars.

This puts the film over other big hit controlled by Disney – Marvel’s The Avengers which stands on 1.518 billion dollars. The Lion King is now the 7th highest grossing movie of all times and is likely to stay that way as the 6th place, Jurassic World stands at 1.671 billion dollars and the top five movies (Avengers: Infinity War, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Titanic, Avatar and Avengers: Endgame) have grossed over 2 billion dollars.

The highest grossing movie this weekend was once again Fast And Furious: Hobbs and Shaw which added 45.28 million dollars worldwide. The movie’s total gross now stands at 684.2 million dollars – 70% of that from oversees. In this the spin-off movie has surpassed Fast Five which stands at 626.1 million dollars. It now claims the 4th place in the series – a place in it is likely to stay as the 3rd place Fast and Furious 6 stands at 788.7 million dollars.

Ah, the Super Bowl. That great American tradition that is all about football.

Bot not only…

While many tune in to Super Bowl Sunday to see who will be crowned champion, the spectacle also offers the prime spot to debut trailers for some of the year’s most anticipated films.

And now, thanks to the NFL finale, we have our latest look at Avengers: Endgame!

Just before kick-off, Marvel gave us a glimpse into how the real battle will go down following the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War.

Captain America, played by Chris Evans, can be heard saying, “Some people move on, but they’re not us,” as he, The Hulk, Ant-Man, Black Widow, and the others prepare for the final showdown.

Is it April 26th yet?!

A Fox News TV anchor made an appeal to the Twitterverse on behalf of a terminally ill little boy whose dying wish is to meet one of Marvel’s Avengers.

“[Emilio’s] uncle sat next to me on a flight a few weeks ago,” said Shannon Bream. “He reached out yesterday, and I don’t really have Hollywood friends but I said I’d give it a try. I sent the tweet and said a prayer.”

The tweet proved to be as good as a call from Tony Stark himself, as Chris Evans and Paul Rudd — aka Captain America and Ant-Man — responded within hours by sending videos for Emilio.

And although not technically an Avenger, Deadpool star, Ryan Reynolds, offered his services too.

Following suit was Thor actor, Zachary Levi, who promised to provide his best impression of Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, and Guardians of the Galaxy star, Chris Pratt.

We think the real Avengers have some serious competition!

The origin story of T’Challa has now (unsurprisingly) become the highest-grossing superhero film in North America.

The Marvel movie has already made over $1.2-billion worldwide (we hear it’s a huge hit in Wakanda…) and $630.9-million at the domestic box office since it was released 6 weeks ago.

The impressive figures have now placed Black Panther first in line, ahead of Marvel’s other superhero film, The Avengers (which earned $623.3-million in 2012), Christopher Nolan’s Batman sequel The Dark Knight, The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and The Dark Knight Rises.

Last year’s superhero origin flick, Wonder Woman, just slips out of the top 5.

Black Panther is also climbing up the all-time domestic gross charts — currently perched in 5th place.

Being a fairly new release, Black Panther is expected to rake in even more in the coming weeks.

Although, a new challenger may be looming as Marvel’s next film, The Avenger: Infinity War (ironically starring Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther) opens on the 27th of April.

In our hearts, however, it’s still Wakanda forever.
