“The Lion King” is Now the 7th Highest Grossing Movie of All Time

The Lion King does not stop. This weekend saw the live action Disney remake adding 27.3 million dollars to its revenues, reaching a total gross of 1.564 billion dollars.

This puts the film over other big hit controlled by Disney – Marvel’s The Avengers which stands on 1.518 billion dollars. The Lion King is now the 7th highest grossing movie of all times and is likely to stay that way as the 6th place, Jurassic World stands at 1.671 billion dollars and the top five movies (Avengers: Infinity War, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Titanic, Avatar and Avengers: Endgame) have grossed over 2 billion dollars.

The highest grossing movie this weekend was once again Fast And Furious: Hobbs and Shaw which added 45.28 million dollars worldwide. The movie’s total gross now stands at 684.2 million dollars – 70% of that from oversees. In this the spin-off movie has surpassed Fast Five which stands at 626.1 million dollars. It now claims the 4th place in the series – a place in it is likely to stay as the 3rd place Fast and Furious 6 stands at 788.7 million dollars.
