]]>The new series will focus on a Las Vegas singer and a 25-year-old spoiled outcast and the dark relationship they form with each other. Downs, Statsky, and Aniello will be in charge of the writing while Schur will executive produce the series through his Fremulon production company. Downs and Aniello are also executive producing through their Paulilu production banner. Statsky, David Miner (3 Arts Entertainment), and The Good Place producer Morgan Sackett will produce.
Schur is responsible for shows such as The Good Place, Parks and Recreation, and The Office. The other trio is behind Broad Cit. Statsky wrote for Schur’s Parks and Rec and currently serves as an executive producer on The Good Place as well. She’s also written for acclaimed comedies like Forever and Lady Dynamite.
We don’t know much about the new developing series, but the track record of its creators certainly warrants some optimism.

]]>The main goal of this digital series is to bridge the gap between Season 3 and 4. It will focus on demon Shawn (Marc Evan Jackson) who’s in charge of deciding which deceased humans will be sent to the new afterlife neighborhood formed by Michael (Ted Danson).
The Selection will consist of a total of six digital episodes, but don’t get your hopes too high by expecting one of the lead characters to make an appearance. We’ll have to wait for Season 4 to see what they’ve been up to.
This digital series is already available on the NBC App, and we’ll have to wait until September 26th for the fourth season of The Good Place to officially premiere.

]]>News of the cancelation was announced Friday night at the series’ panel during the Television Academy by series creator/executive producer Michael Schur.
“After The Good Place was picked up for season two, the writing staff and I began to map out, as best we could, the trajectory of the show. Given the ideas we wanted to explore, and the pace at which we wanted to present those ideas, I began to feel like four seasons—just over 50 episodes—was the right lifespan. At times over the past few years we’ve been tempted to go beyond four seasons, but mostly because making this show is a rare, creatively fulfilling joy, and at the end of the day, we don’t want to tread water just because the water is so warm and pleasant. As such, the upcoming fourth season will be our last.”
The series follows a group of humans in the afterlife. It stars Kristen Bell, Ted Danson, D’Arcy Carden, Manny Jacinto, William Jackson Harper, and Jameela Jamil.
The Good Place returns for its final season this fall on NBC.

]]>This wacky afterlife series premiered back in 2016, and it was met with critical acclaim from the very start. Despite the fact it’s not one of NBC’s biggest hits, the network obviously appreciates the story Michael Schur and his team are trying to tell.
“Congratulations to Mike Schur and an exceptional cast and crew, all of whom collaborate to create a thoughtful, mind-bending and hysterical series unlike anything else on television. We can’t wait to see what unexpected stories the new season will bring,” said NBC in a statement.
The Good Place follows four unlikely heroes living their afterlife in a highly selective Heaven-like utopia, that isn’t as perfect as it seems. It stars Kristen Bell, Ted Danson, William Jackson Harper, Jameela Jamil, and Manny Jacinto.
