The wait is almost over. We finally get to see what our favorite Netflix couple Lara Jean Covey and Peter Kavinsky have been up to since they started officially dating.

Netflix released the first trailer to the sequel To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You on Thursday and the clip shows Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo) and Lara Jean Covey’s (Lana Condor) first “real date” and their love story has a hiccup when one of Covey’s first crushes, John Ambrose McClaren (Jordan Fisher), comes back into her life.

The movies are based on Jenny Han’s book series about a high school girl whose secret letters she wrote to her crushes over the years end up in the hands of her recipients.

To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You will be released right before Valentine’s Day on February 12, 2020. A third film, To All the Boys: Always and Forever, Lara Jean is already in the works and Condor and Centineo are set to reprise their roles.

All those previously loved boys are scheduled to return, but not everyone is joining the reunion…

Following the mass hit that was To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, it was hardly surprising that Netflix decided to bring us a sequel. But even before the good news was confirmed, the film’s director, Susan Johnson, was totally on board for round two.

It appears now, though, that the ship that is To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before 2 will be sailing without its original captain. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Johnson has stepped down from the role due to other commitments.

“Directing To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before has been one of the great experiences of my life, and I am grateful to the fans for their passionate support of the film,” she said in a statement. “Due to the timing of my other projects I won’t be directing the sequel, but as an executive producer, I am looking forward to continuing to share Lara Jean’s story and being part of this franchise.”

But don’t worry — Lana Condor, Noah Centineo, Anna Cathcart, Janel Parrish, and John Corbett will be in good hands as director of photography on the first film, Michael Fimognari, will replace Johnson who will still remain involved as executive producer.

Netflix has officially confirmed that a sequel to To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is definitely happening.

That’s right, Lana Condor and Noah Centineo will be returning to our home screens for the sequel to the Netflix rom-com of 2018. The news was announced by Lana herself in a clip titled ‘Lana’s Christmas List’. While planning what to get Noah Christmas, he popped up on her face time to talk about a new contract. Shen then burst out with: “I am so excited it is officially official” and then Centineo confirmed the sequel is definitely on.

In addition to Lana’s announcement, Netflix also confirmed the news in the form of a note in the style of Laura Jean’s love letters.

It reads: “I miss you. I know it’s only been a few months and I swear I wasn’t trying to avoid you; I just didn’t know how to answer your question without lying to you. The truth isn’t always simple or straightforward—and as we know all too well, dating contracts have a way of quickly getting complicated. But, the letters are out…it’s true. A To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before sequel is coming to Netflix. And yes, you can seamlessly continue to run your #Covinsky fan accounts because your dreamy stars Lana Condor and Noah Centineo are in on it too.”

They also promised that the sequel will “be worth the wait” so prepare to be delighted.
