]]>While there have been reports that Wilson, Vaughn, Isla Fisher, and Rachel McAdams were for making a sequel for HBO Max and that production would be starting this summer, Wilson told Variety the sequel is still in the early planning stages.
“Some people are saying that you guys are going to be going in August, and that’s not right,” Wilson told Variety, adding that director David Dobkin “has been working on something,” and that he has been “talking with Vince”.
“If we all agree that we have a good idea, then we’re trying to make something good. But it’s sort of figuring out what that idea would be and if we think we could do something worthwhile,” Wilson added.
This isn’t the first time there’s been talks about a sequel. In 2014, Dobkin said on a Quora forum that he was brainstorming an idea for a sequel with Wilson and Vaughn with Daniel Craig in a Speedo. In 2016, while on the Today show, Fisher said that New Line Cinema was working on sequel.

]]>Vince Vaughn, who led the film alongside Owen Wilson confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that there are serious plans for a second movie. He said that he met with Wilson and the director David Dobkin to seriously discuss this possibility. “So there has been an idea that is pretty good. So we are talking about that in the early stages,” he said.
Vaughn reflected on working on comedies such as Wedding Crashers, Mr. and Mrs Smith, and Zoolander and how much fun it is to work on them. “It’s always fun to make people laugh and go to work with people that are funny.”
It is not the first time the possibility of a second movie has been floated. Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams, who also starred in the first movie, already suggested a few months ago that a Wedding Crashers 2 script is being written. Ferrell also mused about the possibility that it will be a divorce courtroom drama (but he was probably joking).
