Wesley Snipes and Tiffany Haddish have proven their comedic talent in many of their past movies, and they’re gearing up to do it again by each other’s side. The duo landed lead roles in the upcoming Las Vegas comedy Back on the Strip.

Back on the Strip centers on a young man Merlin (Spence Moore II), who moves to Las Vegas after losing his dream girl. He comes to Sin City to pursue his dream of becoming a magician, but an unexpected wardrobe malfunction leads to a change of his career path.

In addition to Snipes, Haddish, and Moore II, the cast of this project will also include JB Smoove (Spider-Man: No Way Home), Faizon Love (Couples Retreat), Bill Bellamy (Self Made), Gary Owen (Ride Along), and Raigan Harris (Grown-ish).

Back on the Strip is the very first film to be distributed by the newly launched production company Luminosity Entertainment. It will also serve as the theatrical directorial debut of Chris Spencer, who has high hopes for this project.

“We have assembled an amazing cast with the industry’s greatest comedic talent. It is a privilege to direct this film, one I co-wrote that has a cast of this caliber for my first feature film,” said Spencer in a statement.

Marvel is currently in the process of developing a Blade reboot, but even if we don’t see Wesley Snipes returning to this role, he’s open to the possibility of working with this studio in the future.

Snipes recently made an appearance at the Toronto Film Festival, where his new movie Dolemite Is My Name had its world premiere. This wasn’t the only project he discussed with the reporters since a question about his return to the Blade franchise naturally came up.

While chatting with ET Canada at TIFF, Wesley Snipes said he’s open to the prospect of working with Marvel in some capacity in the future.

“Maybe I’ll come back as some other type of character. Who knows? You never know! I mean, you know, I’ve been up and down with the Marvel clan from day one so you never know. I can do a lot of different things,” said the actor.

Snipes’ Marvel casting will have to wait since he’s pretty busy with other projects – including the highly-anticipated sequel Coming 2 America.

With success of movies like X-Men, Iron Man, Captain American and Avengers, people often forget about Marvel’s first big superhero franchise, Blade. The first Blade movie from 1998 as well as the sequels Blade II and Blade: Trinity were warmly received by the audience and have developed cult following since. Now, actor Wesley Snipes, who portrayed the vampire hunter Blade in the first three movies, has expressed his desire to portray the character once again.

“I am very much open to all of the possibilities,” – said Snipes in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “If Blade 4 comes along, that is a conversation we can have. And there are other characters in the Marvel universe that, if they want to invite me to play around with, I am with that too. I think the fans have a hunger for me to revisit the Blade character, so that could limit where they could place me as another character in that universe.”

Although the fans would certainly love to see Snipes stepping into the role once again, it is all up to Marvel and their willingness to bring the character into Marvel Cinematic universe. Here is what Marvel Studio president Kevin Feige had to say about it in a recent interview with JoBlo.

“We think it would be cool. Someday.” – said Feige. ” My tenure at Marvel started 17 years ago, and there were two things that sort of launched the modern era. One was X-Men, which was the first thing that people said, ‘Oh, there’s life here.’ But a few years before that, there was Blade. A character nobody had heard of at all, had only appeared in a few issues of Tomb of Dracula or something, turned into a big franchise. That was always a great lesson for me, where you go, ‘It doesn’t matter how well known the character is, it matters how cool the movie is.’ Which, many years later, would be the reason we do Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange. I think Blade is a legacy character now, and I think it would be fun to do something with him one day.”
