]]>Willow serves as a sequel to Ron Howard’s 1988 film of the same name, which originally starred Val Kilmer, Joanne Whalley, and Warwick Davis. Davis returned to reprise his role for the original in this sequel series as aspiring sorcerer Willow, who embarks on a dangerous quest with a group of unlikely heroes.
In addition to Davis, the series also starred Ellie Bamber, Ruby Cruz, Erin Kellyman, Tony Revolori, Amar Chadha-Patel, and Dempsey Bryk.

Are we going into pre-production? Not right now. Does that mean we’re never gonna make it? Absolutely not,” he wrote on Twitter.

And Jon Kasdan has, I think, an inspired take on it and it could be really, really cool.”
The original movie was released in 1988. Written by George Lucas, it told the story of Willow who saves the baby princess Elora Danan from an Evil queen Bavmorda. The film starred Warwick Davis and Val Kilmer. It garnered a modest success upon its release but over time it achieved somewhat of a cult status.
