This is the news you have been waiting for.

Season three of You has not yet even hit our screens, but we should prepare for it to end on a massive cliffhanger. That’s because Netflix has already renewed the series for a fourth season!

It’s crazy to think that the Penn Badgley-led show received such poor viewership when it initially aired on Lifetime considering the success that the thriller has become on the streaming service.

The upcoming season is expected to show the Joe Goldberg we have become familiar with in a whole new light as he has now assumed the role of husband and father. Yet, that doesn’t mean he’s given up his stalkery ways…

“It’s been thrilling to watch Penn bring Joe to creepy yet compelling life,” stated showrunner Sera Gamble. “We’re deeply grateful that Netflix has shown You such monumental support and that people around the world have enjoyed watching Joe really get it all very wrong over the past 3 seasons. The whole You team is excited to explore new, dark facets of love in season 4.”

The new season of You will be available on Netflix on October 15.

We’re finally getting a release date and trailer for You Season 3!

Season 3 of the psychological thriller picks up where Season 2 left off with Joe (Penn Badgley) and Quinn (Victoria Pedretti) married and raising their son, Henry, in northern California. Their life becomes complicated due to Love’s impulsiveness and Joe’s interest in the woman next door.

You is based on Caroline Kepnes’ books You and Hidden Bodies. Season 3 will go in a different direction than the books because Kepnes’ third book in the series You Love Me was published in April, which was after the writers planned the story for the series.

Also starring in Season 3 are Saffron Burrows, Tati Gabrielle, Dylan Arnold, Shalita Grant, Travis Van Winkle, Scott Speedman, Michaela McManus, Shannon Chan-Kent, Ben Menhl, Chris O’Shea, and Christopher Sean.

Executive producing are Gina Girolamo, Leslie Morgenstein, Sarah Schechter, and Michael Foley with co-creators Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble. Gamble is also showrunner.

The show’s season 3 will premiere on October 15. Watch the teaser video below.

There are apparently more people left for Joe Goldberg (or is that Will Bettelheim?) to kill.

Netflix has confirmed that the third season of You is indeed happening.

Things seemed to be going well for Penn Badgley’s character at the end of season two — he appeared to have met his soulmate in Love Quinn, they had moved to the suburbs and had a baby on the way, but Joe could not keep his roaming eye to himself… Oh, Joe, Joe, Joe.

Both Badgley and Victoria Pedretti will be returning for the third installment, with Sera Gamble and Greg Berlanti once again serving as executive producers. The first two seasons were based on books written by Caroline Kepnes, You and Hidden Bodies, with the author now working on the third novel on which the next season is likely to be based.

Season 2 dropped on December 26th, with no confirmation on when we can expect season 3.

We hope we’ll be seeing you soon…

Netflix has not yet renewed You for another season, but it’s surely only a matter of time.

Why are we so convinced that Joe Goldberg will return? Well, did you see that final scene?! Despite waiting for the official green light from the streaming service, the team behind the thriller has perfectly poised the show for a third season.

Before the credits rolled on the final episode of season 2, Joe seemed to be in a good place: moving into a suburban home with his pregnant girlfriend, Love, who possesses enough dark secrets to rival Joe’s own. All was well. Until Penn Badgley’s character began to obsess over the neighbour he’s been watching through the fence… some guys just can’t help themselves.

Executive producer and writer, Sera Gamble, feels as though that scene is a reminder of who Joe truly is — in spite of the changes he underwent during the last 10 episodes.

“I think to me, the most important thing about that last scene is just it is confirmation that Joe is still Joe in a way that’s not going to be great for Joe. That he has not learned that he cannot just keep looking for the next person to attach his hopes and dreams to that way,” Gamble said. “It seems clear that he’s falling into some version of that same pattern. I can’t say that we know exactly what a season three would be, but I can say things won’t go well for Joe.”

As for a renewal? Gamble simply says, “Our fingers are crossed that we get to keep telling the story.”
