Beyoncé knocked it out of the park with her acclaimed country album Cowboy Carter, and she’s getting credit where credit is due. The Recording Academy shared the Grammy Awards nominations, and Queen B is in the running for 11 trophies, bringing her total to a record-breaking 99 nominations.

With 32 Grammy Awards under her belt, Beyoncé is the most rewarded artist in the history of this ceremony, but one trophy has been eluding her for years. She’s yet to win album of the year, and she’ll have to beat the likes of Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and Billie Eilish to take it home.

Beyoncé is also one of the main contenders for song and record of the year, and she made it to both categories with “Texas Hold ‘Em”. Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather”, Taylor Swift’s “Fortnight” ft. Post Malone, Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck Babe”, and Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” are also in the running for both awards.

The list of main contenders at the Grammys will also include Billie Eilish, Charli XCX, Kendrick Lamar, and Post Malone with seven nods each. Taylor Swift scored six nods, along with Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter, who are both in the running in the “big four” categories, including the best new artist.

The 2025 Grammy Awards winners will be announced on February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

There’s a lot of buzz surrounding each new season of Black Mirror, and its next chapter will be worth the wait. The ensemble cast of the show’s highly-anticipated seventh season has been announced, and it includes 19 new cast members, starting with Issa Rae, Awkwafina, Emma Corrin, and Rashida Jones.

In addition to Rae (Insecure), Awkwafina (The Farewell), Corrin (The Crown), and Jones (Parks and Recreation), Season 7 will also star Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who), Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers), Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish), Chris O’Dowd (The Big Door Prize), Patsy Ferran (Life After Life), Lewis Gribben (Somewhere Boy), Osy Ikhile (Citadel), Siena Kelly (Adult Material), Rosy McEwen (The Alienist), Harriet Walter (Succession), and Paul G. Raymond (Horrible Histories).

The show’s next season will also mark the return of Billy Magnussen, Jimmi Simpson, Cristin Milioti, and Milanka Brooks. They’ve previously starred in the Emmy-winning episode USS Callister, and Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker officially confirmed its sequel is on the way.

“Fans of the show will recognize the cast of a certain spaceship from one of our episodes reappearing. We’ve done a sequel for the first time in Black Mirror history. Normally, I kill off all the characters at the end of an episode, and I kept some of ’em alive. I’m growing as a human,” said Brooker during Netflix’s Geeked Week.

Sabrina Carpenter is no stranger to epic music videos, and she really killed it with her latest. She celebrated the release of her new album with a gory visual for her latest single “Taste”, which sees her her getting into a bloody feud with Jenna Ortega.

The Dave Meyers-directed visual sees the two indestructible leading ladies getting into a gory fight over the same guy. From getting impaled by a fence to being set on fire, Carpenter goes through hell and back while trying to hurt Ortega, but they eventually patch things up at the end of the video, after the guy who caused their feud ends up dead.

Death Becomes Her was Carpenter’s main point of reference for this music video, and Ortega agreed to come on board because she’s also a huge fan of this film. “Taste” also pays homage to several other gory classics, including Psycho, Addams Family Values, Ginger Snaps, and Kill Bill.

“Taste” serves as the third single from Carpenter’s long-awaited new album Short n’ Sweet, and it’s not its first song to create a lot of buzz. Its first single “Espresso” grew into one of the biggest hits of 2024, while its follow-up “Please Please Please” became Carpenter’s first song to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

This past year has given us many amazing shows, and the Primetime Emmy Awards are coming back to honor them this summer. The list of nominees has been announced this Wednesday, with The Bear and Shōgun leading the way with more than 20 nods each.

Shōgun emerged as the main contender with a total of 25 nominations, including the outstanding drama series. It’s just the second non-English language series to break into this category, but it will have to face tough competition in The Crown, Fallout, The Gilded Age, The Morning Show, Mr & Mrs Smith, Slow Horses, and 3 Body Problem.

The Bear made history in the comedy field with a total of 23 nods across Primetime Emmy and Creative Arts Emmy Awards, the most any comedy show received for a single season. It’s the contender for the outstanding comedy series, and the culinary dramedy will have to beat Abbott Elementary, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Hacks, Only Murders in the Building, Palm Royale, Reservation Dogs, and What We Do in Shadows to lift the trophy this time around.

As for the limited/anthology series field, True Detective: Night Country is one of the main contenders with a total of 19 nods, including outstanding limited or anthology series, where it’s competing against Baby Reindeer, Lessons in Chemistry, Ripley, and True Detective.

The fourth season of The Witcher is just around the corner, but its main hero will look quite different once this series comes back. Netflix shared the first look at Season 4, which sees Liam Hemsworth transform into Geralt of Rivia for the first time.

Hemsworth joined the cast ahead of Season 4 after Henry Cavill announced his exit as Geralt of Rivia in 2022. He said he’s honored that Cavill is handing him the reins and allowing him to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure.

Season 4 of this epic fantasy series recently kicked off production, and it didn’t take long for Netflix to drop the first look. The short teaser opens with Geralt walking through a foggy night with his horse, before turning around and giving us a glimpse of Hemsworth as the White Wolf.

Season 4 is currently shooting in the UK back-to-back with Season 5, which will mark the final chapter of this series.

“We’re thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski’s books to an epic and satisfying conclusion. It wouldn’t be our show if we didn’t push our family of characters to their absolute limit – stay tuned to see how the story ends,” creator and showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said in a statement when the show’s final season was announced.

Peacock has been plotting a potential The Office spin-off for quite some time, and they’ve officially given it a green light. Greg Daniels and Michael Koman co-created a new spin-off series set at a dying daily newspaper in the Midwest.

Daniels, who originally co-created The Office for NBC, worked with a team of writers to develop new ideas this summer and eventually joined forces with Koman to create this series. Here’s what we can expect from this spin-off, according to Peacock’s official synopsis:

“The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch is in search of a new subject when they discover a dying historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it with volunteer reporters.”

Domhnall Gleeson (The Patient) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) boarded this project before Peacock officially placed a series order. Production will start in 2024, and the ensemble cast will most likely be announced in the meantime.

The Office originally aired on NBC between 2005 and 2013 and went on to become a cult classic in the era of streaming. Steve Carell led its ensemble cast as Michael Scott, the unconventional regional manager of the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Danny Boyle is finally ready to revisit his post-apocalyptic franchise with the new film 28 Years Later, and he’s slowly rounding out its cast. Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes landed lead roles in the next film in this acclaimed horror series.

It’s been over two decades since 28 Days Later kicked off this franchise in 2002, and Boyle is finally ready to take us back. The original film starred Cillian Murphy in his breakout role and became a massive hit, inspiring a commercially and critically successful sequel 28 Weeks Later.

After years of anticipation, the third film in this franchise is finally on the way. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it’s safe to assume that the sequel will be set in the same post-apocalyptic world as its predecessors, impacted by a highly contagious virus.

Boyle is coming on board as a director, while Alex Garland wrote the script. Sony Pictures is reportedly plotting this project as the first part of a trilogy, and they’ve already managed to attract some A-list talent. Emmy winner Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Golden Globe winner Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Bullet Train), and Oscar nominee Ralph Fiennes (The Grand Budapest Hotel) are the first stars to join this project in mystery roles.

Joker and Harley Quinn have appeared by each other’s side in several movies and TV shows, but their next trip around the sun will be unlike any other. The first trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux is here, and it sees Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga dancing like there’s no tomorrow.

The term “folie à deux” can be translated as “shared madness” and it perfectly describes the relationship between this notorious villain power couple. The new trailer sees Arthur Fleck and Harley Quinn catching each other’s eye during their time at Arkham Asylum, and finding themselves caught in a dangerous dance that could either destroy them—or set them free.

The first promo clip also makes it clear that Joker: Folie à Deux will feature many musical elements. It’s set to the beat of “What the World Needs Now (Is Love Sweet Love)”, but the film will feature at least 15 renditions of well-known songs that fit its theme, according to Variety’s recent report.

Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga will be joined by Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, Steve Coogan, Ken Leung, Harry Lawtey, and Zazie Beetz in supporting roles. We’ll get to witness their wild dance on October 4, when Joker: Folie à Deux will be released theatrically by Warner Bros.

Beyoncé’s latest album Cowboy Carter is a love letter to country music that perfectly captures her incredible range, and it deserves all the praise coming its way. This album gave us 27 new songs, each one amazing in its own right, and these five ended up creating the biggest commotion so far.

“Texas Hold ‘Em”

“Texas Hold ‘Em” gave us a taste of Cowboy Carter before this album even came out. It introduced us to Beyoncé’s new sound, set several chart records, and started a larger conversation about the place of African-American artists in country music.

“Jolene”

Beyoncé didn’t just cover Dolly Parton’s timeless classic “Jolene”—she put a modern, defiant spin on this pleading country bop, infusing it with her personal history.

“II Most Wanted” ft. Miley Cyrus

Cowboy Carter wouldn’t be the same without its amazing collaborations, and “II Most Wanted” did a great job blending Beyoncé and Cyrus’ voices and musical styles in perfect harmony.

“Protector”

In addition to being one of Cowboy Carter’s strongest tracks, “Protector” became a huge sensation online because it features spoken word by Beyoncé’s daughter Rumi Carter.

“Ya Ya”

“Ya Ya” is quickly establishing itself as one of Cowboy Carter’s breakout hits, and it will win you over with its infectious energy and catchy lyrics.

Olivia Rodrigo surprised her fans with the release of the deluxe edition of her album Guts, and she promoted its release in the best way possible. She dropped the music video for her latest single “Obsessed”, which sees her coming face to face with her boyfriend’s exes.

The Mitch Ryan-directed visual sees the Grammy-winning singer attending a ballroom party with a pretty exclusive guest list. All the girls in attendance are exes of the same guy, who just happens to be the current love interest of Rodrigo’s, who attends the party wearing a black dress and a sash that reads “Miss Right Now”.

While the song’s lyrics perfectly capture the destructive power of jealousy, Rodrigo finds herself surrounded by a group of women in white gowns, wearing sashes that read “Miss Thought She Was the One” and “Miss Sill His Closest Friend”.

“Obsessed” was previously featured as a hidden track on some vinyl editions of Guts before being officially released as a single. It’s one of five new tracks featured on the album’s deluxe edition Guts (Spilled), alongside “Scared of My Guitar”, “Stranger”, “Girl I’ve Always Been”, and “So American”.

Rodrigo’s sophomore album Guts originally came out in September last year, and produced hit singles “Vampire”, “Bad Idea Right?”, and “Get Him Back”.

The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards are returning to the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California on September 15.
