Sabrina Carpenter is no stranger to epic music videos, and she really killed it with her latest. She celebrated the release of her new album with a gory visual for her latest single “Taste”, which sees her her getting into a bloody feud with Jenna Ortega.
The Dave Meyers-directed visual sees the two indestructible leading ladies getting into a gory fight over the same guy. From getting impaled by a fence to being set on fire, Carpenter goes through hell and back while trying to hurt Ortega, but they eventually patch things up at the end of the video, after the guy who caused their feud ends up dead.
Death Becomes Her was Carpenter’s main point of reference for this music video, and Ortega agreed to come on board because she’s also a huge fan of this film. “Taste” also pays homage to several other gory classics, including Psycho, Addams Family Values, Ginger Snaps, and Kill Bill.
“Taste” serves as the third single from Carpenter’s long-awaited new album Short n’ Sweet, and it’s not its first song to create a lot of buzz. Its first single “Espresso” grew into one of the biggest hits of 2024, while its follow-up “Please Please Please” became Carpenter’s first song to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
