The post Apple TV+ Renews “For All Mankind” & Orders Spin-Off “Star City” appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>For All Mankind is set in the alternative universe where the United States failed to become the first nation to land the man on the Moon. This eventually led to them losing the space race and changed the course of history as we know it.
In addition to renewing For All Mankind, also ordered a spin-off Star City, described as “a propulsive paranoid thriller” about the Soviet cosmonauts, engineers, and intelligence officers who won the space race in this alt-history retelling.
Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi co-created Star City with Ronald D. Moore, after their fascination with the Soviet space program grew while they were working on For All Mankind.
“The more we learned about this secret city in the forests outside Moscow where the Soviet cosmonauts and engineers worked and lived, the more we wanted to tell this story of the other side of the space race,” said the duo in a statement.

]]>The post “The Matrix 5” in Development With Drew Goddard as Director appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>Jesse Ehrman, Warner Bros Motion Pictures’ president of production, said they’re honored to join forces with Goddard and see him add his vision to the Matrix canon.
“Drew came to Warner Bros with a new idea that we all believe would be an incredible way to continue the Matrix world, by both honoring what Lana and Lilly began over 25 years ago and offering a unique perspective based on his own love of the series and characters,” said Ehrman in a statement.
Despite not directing the next Matrix film, the original co-writer and co-director Lana Wachowski will be back as one of its executive producers. She revived the franchise with The Matrix Resurrections in 2021, which marked the first film in this series to be directed solely by her.
Goddard’s new take is still in the early stages of development, so it remains unclear how it connects to the original franchise. We also don’t know if any of the core cast members, including Keanu Reeves, Carrie Anne-Moss, and Laurence Fishburne, will be back for this sequel.

]]>Kinds of Kindness is a triptych fable that chronicles the journey of three different characters. We’ll follow a story of a man trying to take control of his own life, a policeman whose wife seems to be a different person after being lost at sea and coming back home, and a woman who’s trying to find a special individual who’s destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.
Kinds of Kindness will reunite Stone with her frequent collaborator Yorgos Lanthimos, following the success of their most recent collaboration Poor Things, which won Stone her second Oscar. This film also marks the reunion between Lanthimos and screenwriter Efthimis Filippou, who also co-wrote his films The Lobster and Killing of a Sacred Deer
This film will also star several of Lanthimos’ past collaborators, including Poor Things’ Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley and The Favourite’s Joe Alwyn. Hong Chau (The Whale), Mamoudou Athie (Archive 81), and Hunter Schafer (Euphoria) also star.
Kinds of Kindness will hit the theatres on June 21 via Searchlight Pictures.

]]>Alien: Romulus is set between the events of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986), and it follows a group of young space colonizers who must face the most terrifying life form in the universe on their journey to the deep ends of a derelict space station.
The cast of this project is led by Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla) and Isabela Merced (Madame Web), who are joined by David Jonsson (Rye Lane), Archie Renaux (Shadow and Bone), Spike Fearn (Aftersun), and Aileen Wu in supporting roles.
Fede Álvarez (Don’t Breathe) took over from Ridley Scott as the director of the new film, and he promises it will be a real treat for both Alien fans and newcomers to the franchise.
“I love all of those movies. I didn’t want to omit or ignore any of them when it comes to connections at a story level, character level, technology level, and creature level. There’s always connections from Alien to Alien: Covenant,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.
Alien: Romulus will be released by 20th Century Studio on August 16, after switching from streaming to theatrical releasse.

]]>Coldplay’s headlining spot will be quite history-making because they’re the first act to lead the bill for the fifth time. They impressed the audience at the Worthy Farm with amazing performances in 2002, 2005, 2011, and 2016, and their latest headlining spot will be a part of their ongoing Music of the Spheres World Tour.
Dua Lipa and SZA will also make Glastonbury history by each other’s side. This year’s festival will be the very first with two female headliners, and expectations are running high. Lipa will drop her third studio album Radical Optimism in May, while SZA is getting ready to share the reissue of her hit sophomore album SOS, titled Lana.
Glastonbury will return to Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset between June 26-30, and the rest of the lineup is as impressive as the headlining trio. LCD Soundsystem, Camilla Cabello, Shania Twain, Janelle Monáe, The National, and Avril Lavigne are among the performers hitting the stage this year.

]]>Grande’s new album was named after Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and she celebrated her love for this film in her latest music video. The Christian Breslauer-directed visual opens with Grande’s character Paches undergoing the procedure to erase her ex-boyfriend (Evan Peters) from her mind and relieve all the great memories they’ve shared.
Grande took to social media to express gratitude to both Peters and Breslauer for making this video a labor of love. She thanked them “for creating such a safe space, for holding [her] hand, and for thoughtfully bringing this entire album to life with this one video.”
“We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” serves as the second single from Grande’s new seventh studio album Eternal Sunshine, released on March 8 via Republic Records. She teased its release with the lead single “Yes, And?”, which hit the shelves in early January and became her sixth song to debut atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

]]>This project marks the historic first for The Beatles because it’s the first scripted film that officially got a green light from Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the families of John Lennon and George Harrison, who granted their full life stories and music rights.
Pippa Harris, who’s producing this project alongside Mendes via Neal Street Productions, described it as “a uniquely thrilling, and epic cinematic experience: four films, told from four different perspectives which tell a single story about the most celebrated band of all time.”
Mendes said they decided to go with Sony Pictures due to their passion for the idea and commitment to propelling these films theatrically in an innovative and exciting way. We’re yet to learn what exactly this means, but all four films are eyeing a 2027 release window.
The Beatles made music together between 1960 and 1970, but that was just enough time to change the face of music forever. Their legacy lives on over five decades later and they’re remembered as one of the most influential rock groups of all time.

]]>Pascal’s casting had been a public secret for months before Marvel finally made things official. The Mandalorian and Last of Us star will lead this superhero flick as Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic, and he’ll be in a pretty good company!
Vanessa Kirby (The Crown, Mission: Impossible franchise) will join him as Sue Storm aka the Invisible Woman, along with Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear) as Ben Grimm aka the Thing.
Jack Kirby and Stan Lee’s The Fantastic Four comics have already been adapted on several occasions. Tim Story Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of Silver Surfer from 2005/2007 grossed over $635 million, but struggled to impress the critics, while Josh Trank’s 2015 reboot crashed and burned both critically and at the box office.
Matt Shakman (WandaVision) will get the chance to do things right this time around, and he’s directing this project off a script by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer. The Fantastic Four will be released in theatres on July 25, 2025.
