This year’s telecast saw a drop in numbers, with 18.6 million viewers — a 2% decrease. Despite the drop, the Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh-helmed show did show an increase when it came to certain demographics.
Viewers in the 18 to 49 age bracket showed an improvement of 4% compared to the same category last year, with Nielsen’s recording a 5.2 rating in contrast to 2018’s 5.0.
Looks like the Globes are still living life like it’s Golden.

Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper, Antonio Banderas, Kristen Bell, Emily Blunt, Steve Carell, Olivia Colman, Taron Egerton, Lucy Liu, Julianne Moore, Maya Rudolph, Megan Mullally, Chris Pine, Amy Poehler, Gina Rodriguez, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz are among the second round of presenters announced.
They join the previously announced presenters including Lupita Nyong’o, Gary Oldman, Jim Parsons, Sam Rockwell, Saoirse Ronan, Octavia Spencer, Ben Stiller, Lena Waithe, Halle Berry, Chadwick Boseman, Sterling K. Brown, Jessica Chastain, Kaley Cuoco, Jamie Lee Curtis, Dick Van Dyke, Idris Elba, Harrison Ford, Johnny Galecki, Justin Hartley, Taraji P. Henson, Felicity Huffman, Allison Janney, Michael B. Jordan, William H. Macy, Chrissy Metz, Mike Myers and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
The ceremony will be hosted by Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg. The 76th annual Golden Globe Awards that will air on NBC this Sunday.

Each of these films received five nominations, including best picture nod in their respective categories. Unlike the rest of these contenders, Bradley Cooper-directed musical will compete in the drama category.
When it comes to a TV filed, the HFPA tried to break new ground by giving a shout-out to several rookie shows. The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story led the way thanks to the four nods it received in its respective categories. Several new shows followed closely with three nominations, including Barry, Homecoming and The Kominsky Method.
Upcoming Golden Globe ceremony will be hosted by Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg and it will take place on January 6, 2019.

The season traditionally begins with the Golden Globe Awards which covers both film and television and is a good indicator as to what will be nominated for the Oscars.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has now announced that the 76th Annual Golden Globes will be held on the 6th of January.
Nominations for the Globes will be revealed a month earlier, on the 6th of December, while voting will conclude on the 2nd of January.
Last year’s ceremony was hosted by late night TV host Seth Myers, with the 2019 emcee still to be announced.
