It’s been over two decades now since Eminem starred in 8 Mile, inspired by his journey in the world of hip-hop and its TV adaptation is on the way. 50 Cent recently revealed that he’s collaborating with Eminem to bring the film to the small screen.

50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, discussed his plans during a recent appearance on Big Boy TV and revealed he’s plotting a new version of 8 Mile along with Eminem.

“I’m gonna bring his 8 Mile to television. We’re in motion. It’s gonna be big. I ain’t got no duds. I’m battin’ a hundred, I’m battin’ a hundred… I think it should be there for his legacy because it’s important to me that they understand it,” said 50 Cent.

8 Mile premiered in 2002 and it chronicled the journey of a white rapper B-Rabbit, as he tries to rise through the ranks in the world of hip-hop, drawing inspiration from Eminem’s life. He played the lead role, while the supporting cast included Kim Basinger, Brittany Murphy, and Mekhi Phifer.

8 Mile won an Academy Award for best original song for “Lose Yourself”, but Eminem missed the ceremony because he thought he wouldn’t win. He came back to perform “Lose Yourself” at the 92nd Academy Awards in 2020, 17 years after winning his Oscar.

There’s always a lot of anticipation surrounding the Super Bowl halftime show, and this year’s event was a spectacle for the ages. It was a true treat for fans of hip-hop, with rappers Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and singer Mary J. Blige headlining the show.

Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg were the first to hit the stage and they got the crowd wild with the rendition of their collaboration “The Next Episode” and 2Pac’s “California Love”. Their amazing performance was followed by “In Da Club” by 50 Cent.

One of the highlights of the evening came when Mary J. Blige hit the stage and rocked our world with an epic performance of “Family Affair” and “No More Drama”. The amazing moments kept on coming as Kendrick Lamar took the stage and infused old-school West Coast rap performance with some new sounds.

He was joined by Eminem for “Forgot About Dre”, and he went on to give us the most unforgettable moment of the entire halftime show with “Lose Yourself” and ended up taking the knee at the end of his act. The five headliners closed the show with the joined performance of “Still D.R.E.”

Super Bowl LVI took place on February 13th, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California and it saw the Los Angeles Rams win their first Super Bowl title in over two decades.

It’s only been a few days since the crime drama BMF aka Black Mafia Family premiered on Starz, and its future is already looking bright. Only a single episode after its premiere, the network already decided to give it an early Season 2 renewal.

BMF tells the true story of two brothers who rose through the ranks of the crime scene in late 80s Detroit and gave rise to one of the most influential crime families of their generation. Russell Hornsby, Demetrius Flenory, and Da’Vinchi play lead roles, while Snoop Dogg and Eminem make guest appearances throughout the series. Their involvement shouldn’t come as a shocker, since 50 Cent serves as one of the executive producers.

Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch said he’s excited to see what he’s going to bring to the table in the second season. “Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson continues to find and cultivate stories like BMF that are culturally relevant, bringing the network important untold stories that are incredibly diverse both in front of and behind the camera.”

This isn’t 50 Cent’s first collaboration with Starz. He previously served as co-creator, executive producer, and one of the stars of the hit crime drama Power.

The action film franchise The Expendables is officially getting its fourth entry. Lionsgate studio recently confirmed that the work on The Expendables 4 is underway while also announcing some intriguing cast additions.

According to the announcement, Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Jason Statham, and Randy Couture will all be back to reprise their roles from the previous movies. They will be joined by rapper 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson), Transformers‘ star Megan Fox, who will play the female lead, and popular Thai martial artist Tony Jaa.

The new movie will begin filming at some point this fall, with ex-stuntman Scott Waugh (Need for Speed) serving as a director. The story is expected to be focused on Statham’s character Lee Christmas while Stallone’s Barney Ross, who was the focal point of the previous three movies, is set to take a back seat.

The first The Expendables, directed and co-written by Stallone, was released in 2010. It focused on a group of elite mercenaries and featured an ensemble cast consisting of action movie stars (both new and old), wrestling figures, and popular martial artists. The formula proved to be successful as the film became a surprise box office hit. This prompted two sequels, which offered more of the same, in 2012 and 2014.

The Expendables earned a total of $804.1 million at the box office compared to the $280 million budget. There were plans to make an all-female spin-off movie and expand the franchise to television in the past, but none of those projects came to fruition.

Eminem is returning to acting—even if it’s brief.

He’s set to make an appearance in 50 Cent’s forthcoming Starz drama series BMF (Black Mafia Family). The rapper will be playing FBI informant Richard Wershe Jr. aka White Boy Rick.

Wershe was an FBI informant as a teenager during the mid-1980s and he infiltrated a Detroit gang. In 1987, at the age of 17, he was dumped by the FBI and arrested for drug possession and sentenced to life in prison. He was paroled and released last year at the age of 50. Despite Wershe’s limited role in the gang, he’s become iconic in the hip-hop world. There has been a documentary on his life titled White Boy and a scripted drama titled White Boy Rick.

Eminem’s performance will be brief—he’ll be featured in one episode.

“I’m honored and appreciative of my good friend Em for supporting my new show ‘BMF,’” said 50 Cent in a statement via NME. “We couldn’t do a show based in Detroit without incorporating the legend that is Eminem.”

BMF will premiere on September 26 on Starz and it’s inspired by the true story of brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory who founded the drug and money laundering organization Black Mafia Family in 1989 in Detroit.
