It’s only been a few days since the crime drama BMF aka Black Mafia Family premiered on Starz, and its future is already looking bright. Only a single episode after its premiere, the network already decided to give it an early Season 2 renewal.

BMF tells the true story of two brothers who rose through the ranks of the crime scene in late 80s Detroit and gave rise to one of the most influential crime families of their generation. Russell Hornsby, Demetrius Flenory, and Da’Vinchi play lead roles, while Snoop Dogg and Eminem make guest appearances throughout the series. Their involvement shouldn’t come as a shocker, since 50 Cent serves as one of the executive producers.

Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch said he’s excited to see what he’s going to bring to the table in the second season. “Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson continues to find and cultivate stories like BMF that are culturally relevant, bringing the network important untold stories that are incredibly diverse both in front of and behind the camera.”

This isn’t 50 Cent’s first collaboration with Starz. He previously served as co-creator, executive producer, and one of the stars of the hit crime drama Power.
