]]>Back in December, it was announced that Elton John will perform the final UK show of his last-ever tour at Glastonbury, and he’ll be in pretty good company. Guns N’ Roses and Arctic Monkeys will also headline the festival, while Yusuf aka Cat Stevens will take the coveted Sunday afternoon “legend slot”, which draws in one of the festival’s biggest audiences.
The list of this year’s performers also includes Lizzo, Lana Del Rey, Lil Nas X, Manic Street Preachers, Wizkid, and Blondie. After the lineup was announced, Glastonbury came under fire for the lack of female headliners, but the organizer Emily Eavis claims things will be very different next year.
“We try our best and we obviously aim for 50:50… This year, we did have a female headliner, and she, unfortunately, had to pull out… But next year it’s looking like we’ve got two female headliners, so fingers crossed,” said Eavis, according to BBC.
Glastonbury Festival will take place at Pilton, Summerset between June 21 and June 25, and more acts and attractions will soon be announced.

]]>This is the second single from band’s sixth studio album and spiritual follow-up to “Four Out of Five”. It has the same Kubrick-inspired glitzy aesthetic and takes viewers on a psychedelic journey with front-man Alex Turner. He plays a mumbling Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino guest who spends most of the time roaming through its hallways. We watch him as he rides on neon-colored elevators and explores various casino offerings.
After a while, Turner starts feeling at home and assumes to the role of a desk clerk. This flashy environment becomes too overwhelming, and he eventually leaves it behind. The singer tries to clear his mind by riding around Reno’s desert outskirts and taking photos of wild horses.
Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino came out on May 11 and it’s being promoted with a global tour. The band took a break from being on the road to appear on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Monday. They performed the final track from the new album called The Ultracheese and Turner’s look took fans by a surprise. He was sporting a shaved head, which is a drastic change from slick black hair he used to rock.

“Smile” singer also discussed the new Arctic Monkeys’ record, Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino, revealing that she likes the album despite the generally mixed response to it.
“I like that new record,” she said. “It’s like cliché rock’n’roll, but I like it. You know what I mean? I knew it wasn’t going to be Sheffield rock again, but it’s like everything that I expected from a bunch of lads living in Hollywood, from Sheffield, to come up with and I like it for that”
Lily Allen recently released her own new record, No Shame, as well. The album, which is Allen’s fourth studio album, was warmly received by both the music fans and the critics. She also announced a North America tour in support of the album, which will see her playing more than 20 dates in the United States and Canada in October and November.

For those of you who haven’t heard the album, it is unlike anything the Arctic Monkeys have produced before, featuring piano and strange sci-fi themes which Alex Turner claims are inspired by Blade Runner. It sounds more like something that Turner would have produced as part of his solo career but he said this was not the case.
“I was never interested in making a solo album,” Turner said. “I am a part of this band and one would disrespect the other. Nevertheless, I wanted to make this music, it was in me. When you compose on the piano, you automatically get different results than on the guitar. And it was important to me to say goodbye to the realism of most of the Arctic Monkeys stuff.”

]]>The upcoming album might feature members from indie bands Tame Impala, Klaxons and Mini Masons. According to NME, a listing from a German retailer claims that the album features the band’s keyboardist Tom Rowley, drummer Loren Humphries, as well as James Righton of Klaxons, Zach Dawes and Tyler Parkford from Mini Mansions and Tame Impala bassist Cam Avery.
It has not been confirmed but we only need to wait a month to find out if the new album really will be something of a “super album” featuring members from other leading and current indie groups.

The next day we will have an alternative night on the festival, with the likes of The National, Haim, and Cigarettes after Sex. Finally, Primavera Sound is bringing out the big guns on Saturday, with one of the biggest rock stars of today, Arctic Monkeys, who will be supported by Lorde, ASAP Rocky, and many others.
Rock, rap, EDM, you name it, Primavera Sound will most probably have it. You can check out the full lineup below.

The first edition of the festival took place in 2001 when only 8000 people attended it. Since then, Primavera Sound is continuously growing, and established itself as the meeting point for all generations, offering something for everyone’s taste. From well-established stars to underground music, the festival always worked to give the audience a variety of content to choose from. The last year was a good indicator of how much the festival progressed since more than 200,000 people attended it in 2017.
