The incumbent phase of the MCU is drawing to a close.

With the Multiverse that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it can be hard to keep track of what’s happening. Numerous characters have their own standalone films while also featuring in others. The movies are not always released chronologically, meaning a character may be alive in one flick, but deceased in another. In the famous words of Doctor Strange: “The Multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little.”

We are currently amidst Phase 4 of the MCU. 2008’s Iron Man is what kicked off Marvel’s Infinity Saga, which concluded with Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019. Phase 4 began with Black Widow in 2021 and will run until Black Panther: Wakanda Forever debuts later this year.

Phases 4 to 6 up the Multiverse Saga and President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, gave an idea of what to expect whilst at San Diego Comic-Con.

The Avengers will return, although the Russo Brothers won’t. The siblings directed four Marvel movies, including Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Feige confirmed, however, that they will not be helming the forthcoming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. This is despite the pair previously expressing interest in making the latter.

Some films to look forward to in the upcoming Fifth Phase are Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania; Secret Invasion; and Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3.

Eleven years has produced 23 films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — and presumably thousands of hours of unused footage.

The first three phases wrapped up with Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home, and are collectively referred to as “The Infinity Saga”.

The man in charge of all the movies — and decidedly what stays in them and what doesn’t — has been the President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige. Now, as we prepare to embark on a new phase in the MCU with Black Widow and The Eternals, Feige has teased that we may yet get to see the footage that was left on the cutting room floor.

He told Empire Magazine, “If we do a big, giant Infinity Saga box set, we might include – I’m assuming if you’re going to spend the money to buy a box set with everything in it, you’re a fan. And it’ll take more than a couple of really, really bad scenes to turn you… I like sharing those scenes. And when we have something like that that we love, and which was not an easy decision to cut out but was the best decision for the movie, it’s a great avenue to say, ‘We’ll put it out there.’ It’s not like no-one will ever see it. There are things that we think nobody should ever see. And I think we’ve just recently been discussing that now we can start to show some of our less proud moments.”

We’re here for it!

Avengers: Infinity War, aka The superheroes movie of 2018, has landed on Netflix US. Unfortunately, fans were not happy about a mistake they identified in the film’s synopsis.

The synopsis initially read: “Superheroes amass to stop intergalactic sociopath Thanos from acquiring a full set of Infinity Stones and wiping out half of all life in the universe.”

Fans of the franchise felt that this description was inaccurate and complained that Thanos does not display sociopathic behaviour. They argued that Thanos does not display a lack of conscience or the levels of selfishness associated with the term and felt that the synopsis was consequently unjust.

After receiving an influx of complaints and instigating heavy discussion on Twitter, Netflix decided to change the synopsis.

Now, the official description reads:  “Invader. Annihilator. So-called savior. As Thanos moves closer to omnipotence, the fate of the universe rests with the Avengers.”

Part II of Infinity War, Avengers Endgame will be released in April 24. For all readers based in the US, you can re-watch part one on Netflix now.

Avengers fans who watched the trailer for the latest flick, Avengers: Endgame, were left with A LOT of questions.

So, it makes sense that they would try to visit the official website for the Marvel film. Except, those who typed in www.AvengersEndgame.com were left disappointed. As it turns out, the URL — and that of www.AvengersEndgameMovie.com — is already owned by someone calling themselves @AGuyInChair who has decided to hold the domains for ransom to secure tickets to the world premiere of Avengers: Endgame next year.

“I am proud to say that I bought them both before anyone on the internet theorized that Endgame was the title,” he told The Wrap. “[Since then] I’ve just been hanging back, waiting for the title release to confirm it. When I saw the trailer, this morning I got goosebumps.”

Those who do click on the site are redirected to the Deadpool movie page (is this you, Ryan Reynolds?!)

Admittedly, we think his plan is quite masterful.

The end is nigh…

Marvel fans have had several months to deal with the devastating impact of Avengers: Infinity War where the fate of many beloved characters was less than pleasant.

But the grief was combined with anticipation because Infinity War only marked part one of the saga which would see the superheroes attempt to save the world from Thanos.

And with part 2 scheduled for release in April 2019, Marvel has now given us our first look at the sequel… as well as a title!

The fourth installment in the Avengers series has been called Avengers: Endgame which is an incredibly ominous title if ever there was one.

It draws from the last words uttered by Benedict Cumberbatch’s character, Doctor Strange: “We’re in the endgame now.”

While many characters might not make it into the new film, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) can be seen.

The question is: will they make it out alive?

Avengers: Endgame hits theatres on April 24th, 2019.

Suspiria actress, Tilda Swinton, brought the character to life in 2016’s Doctor Strange… and then, presumably (spoiler alert!) died.

But, it appears as though Doctor Strange’s mentor just might be making a reappearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

During an appearance at the Austin Film Festival, executive producer of Avengers 4, Michael Grillo, confirmed that the Oscar-winning actress would be a part of the sequel to Avengers: Infinity War.

“When we got Tilda Swinton, she was just a 1-day availability,” he said.

It is likely that the 57-year-old won’t have too big of a role in the forthcoming film, but it will be nice to see Tilda don a bald head again!

Avengers 4 is out on the 24th of April 2019.

Did Chris Evans just let slip a massive spoiler for Avengers 4?!

Many who watched Avengers: Infinity War thought that Captain America may have joined some of his fellow Avengers in a not-so-happy ending…

Instead, it appears as though the superhero’s potential demise might yet be coming in Avengers 4.

Chris finished filming on the project and sent out a tweet which has left fans wondering whether he’s saying goodbye to the set… or the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole.

“Officially wrapped on Avengers 4,” the 37-year-old wrote on Twitter. “It was an emotional day, to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful.”

Or, perhaps, Chris is following in the footsteps of DC’s Superman, Henry Cavill, who is retiring his cape for someone else to don?

Either way, people like Ryan Reynolds AKA Deadpool, are sad:

“I’m not crying. I’m weeping. There a difference,” he wrote.

We guess we’ll find out when Avengers 4 is released on the 3rd of May 2019.

The Avengers: Infinity War star got slightly into trouble with Marvel bosses as a result of not checking his phone. Last October, Mark tried to do an awesome thing for fans when he attended the Hollywood premiere of Thor: Ragnarok — by live-streaming on Instagram.

All went well… until it didn’t.

The well-meaning 50-year-old placed his phone in his pocket. Without remembering to turn it off! The result was fans being treated to audio of the film’s first 20 minutes.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live with his fellow Avengers, all unanimously agreed that Mark is the most untrustworthy.

“My phone was just blowing up. I was getting these texts and I was like, ‘I hope my mom’s okay,” Mark says in his defence. “But I can’t check my phone in the middle of the theatre, that’s rude. Especially in my own movie.”

When bosses became alerted to the fact that their film was being broadcast for the world, they sent someone over, with the actor explaining, “She poked me and she said, ‘TURN OFF YOUR PHONE! YOUR PHONE IS ON, TURN OFF YOUR PHONE!’”

Let’s assume that from now on all telephones have been switched off for Avengers
