Beyoncé topped the Billboard 200 chart with all of her previous solo albums, and her latest is no exception. Cowboy Carter became Queen B’s eighth studio album to soar to the top of the Billboard 200 chart, with the largest week for an album in 2024 so far.

Cowboy Carter was expected to hit No. 1 after attracting impressive streaming numbers following its release, and it lived up to the hype. It hit no. 1 with 407,000 equivalent album units, becoming Beyoncé’s eighth solo studio album to top the Billboard 200 chart.

SEA units made up 232,000 album units, equaling 300.41 million official streams, which marks the largest streaming week of Beyoncé’s career. Cowboy Carter also earned 168,000 units in pure album sales, helping Beyoncé top Billboard’s Album Sales charts and net the largest vinyl week of her career, since vinyl copies amounted to 62,000 of the units sold.

Beyoncé’s decision to put her own twist on country with Cowboy Carter also helped her make history on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. She became the first Black woman to ever rise to the top, after setting a similar record on the Hot Country Songs chart with the album’s lead single “Texas Hold ‘Em”.

Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” has been breaking records left and right in the past few years, and it’s showing no signs of stopping. This beloved holiday tune returned atop the Billboard Hot 100 for its 14th week, making history along the way.

With 48.4 million streams, 31.7 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 7,000 downloads, “All I Want for Christmas” easily soared back to No. 1, spending another Christmas atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

This marks the 14th non-consecutive week this song spent at No. 1, and this number is quite historic. Thanks to the success of this holiday hit, Carey became the only artist to score three No. 1 songs with 14 or more weeks atop the Hot 100 chart. “All I Want for Christmas” joins her previous chart-topping hits “One Sweet Day” ft. Boyz II Men and “We Belong Together”.

The rest of the Billboard Hot 100 for this week was just as festive as the No. 1 song. Holiday songs overtook the top 10, with the exception of Jack Harlow’s “Lovin On Me” at No. 6. “All I Want For Christmas” was joined by Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”, Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock”, Wham!’s “Last Christmas”, and Burl Ives’ “A Holly Jolly Christmas” in the top five.

2023 has been a historic year for Taylor Swift, and she’s ending it atop the Billboard 200 chart. Her latest re-recording 1989 (Taylor’s Version) returned to the top of the chart for its fourth non-consecutive week, helping Swift end the year at No. 1.

1989 (Taylor’s Version) earned 136,000 equivalent album units during its latest week on the chart, dethroning Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2, which fell to No. 2 with 100,000 equivalent album units earned. It’s one of Swift’s three albums in the top 10 this week, alongside former No. 1s Midnights and Lover.

Several holiday albums also managed to make it to the top ten this week, starting with Michael Bublé’s former No. 1 Christmas at No. 4 with 70,000 units. It’s followed by Nat King Cole’s The Christmas Song at no. 8 and Mariah Carey’s Merry Christmas at no. 10.

Swift is ending the year at No. 1 after breaking countless records throughout 2023 and being named Time’s “Person of the Year”. She told the magazine that she’s not taking her success for granted and that she’ll deal with it by doing what she does best—making new music.

“I’m very careful to be grateful every second that I get to be doing this at this level because I’ve had it taken away from me before. There is one thing I’ve learned: My response to anything that happens, good or bad, is to keep making things. Keep making art,” Swift told Time.

Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas (Is You)” hit No. 1 every holiday season in the past four years, and it’s back on top again! The beloved holiday classic is ruling the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the unprecedented fifth holiday season, dethroning Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”.

Carey reclaimed her “Queen of Christmas” crown after “All I Want for Christmas” drew 42.2 million streams, 26.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, and sold 8,000 downloads during its latest week on the chart. Its Hot 100 standing has as been significantly boosted by the recent release of the “Festive Lambs Edition” music video.

This is the fifth consecutive year that “All I Want for Christmas” spent the holiday season at No. 1. This also marks its 13th week on the Billboard Hot 100, helping Carey tie Boyz II Men as the only other artists with three songs atop the Hot 100 for 13 or more weeks.

“All I Want for Christmas” is the second holiday song to top the chart this season, following Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”, which spent two weeks at no. 1 after climbing to the top 65 years after its release.

Jack Harlow made quite a splash with his latest single “Lovin On Me” and the Billboard Hot 100 finally reflects his success. The rapper’s latest single climbed to No. 1 during its second week on the chart, becoming Harlow’s third No. 1 single in the United States.

“Lovin On Me” initially debuted at No. 2, behind Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer”, but quickly climbed to the top spot. It attracted 23.6 million streams, 20.8 million radio airplay audience impressions, and sold 11,000 downloads during its latest week on the chart.

Harlow celebrated the news by sharing the screenshot of Chart Data’s report that he hit No. 1 on Instagram and captioned it with the words, “Warming up. More coming.” He’s yet to reveal if “Lovin On Me” will be a part of any future albums or EPs, but it wasn’t included on his latest studio album Jackman, which came out back in April.

As for the rest of the Billboard Hot 100 for this week, former chart-topping hits “Cruel Summer” by Taylor Swift and “Paint the Town Red” by Doja Cat took the No. 2 and No. 3 spot. Several holiday classics, including Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” made it to the top 10, and so did Tyla’s viral hit “Water”.

Taylor Swift’s song “Cruel Summer” experienced an amazing resurgence in recent months, and the Billboard Hot 100 finally reflects its viral success. The fan-favorite hit from Swift’s album Lover soared to No. 1 four years after its release, becoming her tenth song in the United States to do so.

“Cruel Summer” topped the Billboard Hot 200 chart after drawing in 77.8 million radio airplay audience impressions, 18.6 million streams, and selling 41,000 downloads during its most recent week on the chart. This is quite a big deal considering it’s been four years since this song was originally released as a part of Swift’s seventh studio album Lover.

There are several factors that contributed to the renaissance of “Cruel Summer”, starting with Swift’s ongoing The Eras Tour. The song gained new prominence as Swift performed it live night after night, and it was used in countless viral videos on social media all summer long. The singer eventually decided to send it to contemporary hit radio as the fifth single from Lover.

Swift previously told iHeartRadio that this song was meant to capture the energy of a summer romance that can be layered with many different feelings.

“It deals with the idea of being in a relationship where there’s some element of desperation and pain in it, where you’re yearning for something that you don’t quite have yet, it’s just right there, and you just can’t reach it,” she explained.

Drake and SZA created quite a splash with their collaboration “Slime You Out”, and this week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart reflects its enormous success. This viral hit easily soared to No. 1 in the US, setting several major milestones for both artists along the way.

“Slime You Out” hit No. 1 after attracting 32.6 million streams and 5.2 million radio airplay audience impressions and selling 2,000 downloads during its first week on the chart. It also debuted atop the Streaming Songs chart and R&B/hip-hop charts this week.

“Slime You Out” is Drake’s 12th song to reach the top of the Billboard 100, and this is quite an accomplishment. He tied Madonna and The Supremes for the fifth-most leaders among all acts, in addition to scoring his record-extending eighth song to debut at No. 1.

As for SZA, “Slime You Out” is her second single atop the Billboard Hot 100, following the success of “Kill Bill”. She’s currently the only artist with multiple No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2023, and she also reached No. 3 with “Snooze” this week.

“Slime You Out” has been released as the second single from Drake’s upcoming album For All the Dogs, set to be released on October 6.

Magical things tend to happen whenever The Weeknd and Ariana Grande join forces, and their latest collaboration is a case in point. The duo teamed up for the remix of “Die for You” and managed to score their second Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 by each other’s side.

“Die for You” reached the top with 81.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, 32.4 million streams, and sold 14,000 copies during its most recent week on the chart, and its rise to the top isn’t really a shocker. This song experienced a rise in popularity thanks to TikTok and peaked at No. 6 before Grande even jumped on board.

“Die for You” is the latest example of TikTok bringing long-forgotten songs back from obscurity. This track was just a modest success when it was originally released as a part of The Weeknd’s 2016 album Starboy, and it originally debuted at No. 43.

Joining forces with Grande proved to be the winning formula for The Weeknd for the second time. The duo previously topped the Billboard Hot 100 with the remix of his song “Save Your Tears”. “Die for You” is their fourth collaboration together – they also worked on “Love Me Harder” from Grande’s sophomore album My Everything and “Off The Table” from Grande’s sixth studio album Positions.

P!nk’s fans spent almost four years waiting for her new album Trustfall, and this record was definitely worth the wait. It topped Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart following its release, becoming the singer’s third album to do so.

Trustfall hit the shelves on February 17 and did pretty great during its first week on the charts. It debuted atop Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart with 59,000 copies sold during its first full tracking week. This makes it P!nk’s third album to top this chart and her 10th consecutive top 10-charting effort on the tally.

Trustfall wasn’t as successful on the Billboard 200 chart, and it had to take no. 2 behind SZA’s SOS which scored its tenth week on the top. P!nk’s latest LP managed to earn 74,500 equivalent album units, including 12,500 SEA units, equaling 16.61 million official on-demand streams. Despite failing to top this US chart, Trustfall reached no. 1 in several other countries, including the UK, Australia, and Canada.

Trustfall serves as a follow-up to P!nk’s 2019 album Hurts 2B Human, and singles “Never Gonna Not Dance Again” and “Trustfall” preceded its release. It also features collaborations with The Lumineers, Chris Stapleton, and First Aid Kit.
