Magical things tend to happen whenever The Weeknd and Ariana Grande join forces, and their latest collaboration is a case in point. The duo teamed up for the remix of “Die for You” and managed to score their second Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 by each other’s side.

“Die for You” reached the top with 81.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, 32.4 million streams, and sold 14,000 copies during its most recent week on the chart, and its rise to the top isn’t really a shocker. This song experienced a rise in popularity thanks to TikTok and peaked at No. 6 before Grande even jumped on board.

“Die for You” is the latest example of TikTok bringing long-forgotten songs back from obscurity. This track was just a modest success when it was originally released as a part of The Weeknd’s 2016 album Starboy, and it originally debuted at No. 43.

Joining forces with Grande proved to be the winning formula for The Weeknd for the second time. The duo previously topped the Billboard Hot 100 with the remix of his song “Save Your Tears”. “Die for You” is their fourth collaboration together – they also worked on “Love Me Harder” from Grande’s sophomore album My Everything and “Off The Table” from Grande’s sixth studio album Positions.
