Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas (Is You)” hit No. 1 every holiday season in the past four years, and it’s back on top again! The beloved holiday classic is ruling the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the unprecedented fifth holiday season, dethroning Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”.
Carey reclaimed her “Queen of Christmas” crown after “All I Want for Christmas” drew 42.2 million streams, 26.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, and sold 8,000 downloads during its latest week on the chart. Its Hot 100 standing has as been significantly boosted by the recent release of the “Festive Lambs Edition” music video.
This is the fifth consecutive year that “All I Want for Christmas” spent the holiday season at No. 1. This also marks its 13th week on the Billboard Hot 100, helping Carey tie Boyz II Men as the only other artists with three songs atop the Hot 100 for 13 or more weeks.
“All I Want for Christmas” is the second holiday song to top the chart this season, following Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”, which spent two weeks at no. 1 after climbing to the top 65 years after its release.
