Daniel Craig is not going to have an easy time in his last adventure as James Bond.

The Knives Out actor is set to hang up his suave suit after the forthcoming installment in the Bond saga which is set to be released in 2020.

With this being Craig’s final excursion as the secret agent, producers have made sure to match him again with one of his worst nemeses: Blofeld.

Christoph Waltz will return as the supervillain who has previously been played by Donald Pleasance, Max von Sydow, and Telly Savalas. Waltz made his first appearance as Blofeld in 2015’s Spectre.

The Oscar winner will join the cast of Ralph Fiennes, Lea Seydoux, Naomie Harris, Ben Winshaw, and Jeffrey Wright, while fellow Academy Award winner, Rami Malek, has been chosen to play the other villain.

Although having endured many delays throughout filming, Bond 25 is scheduled for release on April 8th, 2020.

The producers of the next James Bond film are bringing in someone familiar with trying to kill off MI6 agents to assist.

The project, so far known as Bond 25, has been through a difficult time, what with its director pulling out.

Danny Boyle was attached to the film — which is set to be Daniel Craig’s last as 007 — but the Slumdog Millionaire filmmaker pulled out due to creative differences.

His departure meant that writer John Hodge went with him and the screenplay was left incomplete. Veteran Bond screenwriters, Robert Wade and Neal Purvis, were brought back in to take over.

According to The Observer, creator of Killing Eve, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, is now coming on board to “liven up” the script. She reportedly met with Craig and discussed “how to improve the script of Bond 25, which the 007 actor felt needed some ‘polishing,’ by introducing more humor and the offbeat style of writing she is best known for.”

Bond 25 is expected next year, with Beasts of No Nation filmmaker, Cary Jo Fukunaga, directing a cast that includes Ben Whishaw, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Léa Seydoux, and Rami Malek.

James Bond will be revisiting a familiar face.

Daniel Craig will be having his last hurrah as the suave British spy in the forthcoming film, so far titled Bond 25.

The flick has not been without challenges — first questions about whether Craig would return, and then Danny Boyle signing on as director, only for the Trainspotting filmmaker to pull out, putting the entire project in jeopardy.

He was replaced by Maniac director, Cary Joji Fukunaga, who now has plans to bring Craig’s arc — which began in Casino Royale — full circle.

The 41-year-old intends doing that by reuniting 007 with Dr. Madeleine Swann who was played by Lea Seydoux.

The French actress was first introduced to the world of Bond in Spectre.

“You have some of the best actors in the world here. Why wouldn’t I have the best coming back?!” Fukunaga said of her return as well as that of Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, and Naomie Harris.

Bond 25 will be released on February 14, 2020.

Danny Boyle’s exit from the latest James Bond film has left a lot of developments shaken up.

The Trainspotting director pulled out of the project last month over what was reported to be creative differences.

The withdrawal has sent into jeopardy Bond 25 — which is the final film starring Daniel Craig as the suave spy — as the film is now without a director, as well as script.

French-Moroccan actor, Said Taghmaoui, has now revealed that he was due to star in the production but that his role is now in question.

“I’m supposed to do the next James Bond, playing the lead bad guy,” the Wonder Woman actor told The National. “I was cast by Danny Boyle, and just now he left the project, so of course there’s some uncertainty.”

“We don’t know who the director will be, and the producers don’t know if they’re going to go Russian or Middle East with the baddie right now. I literally just received a message saying: ‘If they go Middle East, it’s you. If they go Russian, it’s someone else.’”

There has been no announcement as to who will replace the Oscar-winning filmmaker, with the film expected to miss its original release date of 8 November 2019.

The fate of Bond 25 has been put into jeopardy with it being announced last week that Trainspotting director, Danny Boyle, had pulled out of the project.

The reasoning behind the decision by the Oscar-winning filmmaker has been cited as “creative differences”.

In addition to Boyle’s departure was that of screenwriter, John Hodge, meaning that an entirely new screenplay will have to be produced.

As a replacement for Boyle, producers are said to be eyeing several directors, including Jean-Marc Vallee who directed Dallas Buyer’s Club (for which Matthew McConaughey won an Oscar), as well as the TV miniseries, Big Little Lies.

Another name being thrown into the hat is Baby Driver director, Edgar Wright. The Brit has, in the past, expressed a desire to helm a film about England’s most famous spy.

Despite the current state of the project, it’s premiere date has still been slated for 9 November 2019.

After lots of speculations and numerous high profile names being rumored as contenders for directing the 25th movie in the James Bond series, it looks like the MGM studio finally found their guy. Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, and Slumdog Millionaire) recently spoke with Metro.us and revealed that he is currently working on a script for a new James Bond movie.

“We are working on a script right now,” said Boyle when asked if he will be director of the next installment in the franchise. “And it all depends on that, really. I am working on a Richard Curtis script at the moment. We hope to start shooting that in six or seven weeks. Then Bond would be right at the end of the year. But we are working on them both right now.”

“We’ve got an idea, John Hodge — the screenwriter — and I have got this idea, and John is writing it at the moment,” – he added. “And it all depends on how it turns out. It would be foolish of me to give any of it away.”

Boyle also declined to discuss when and where the next Bond movie could be filmed.
Danny Boyle was one of the main candidates for the director’s gig, with MGM being very keen on the 61-year-old for some time now. According to the reports, Boyle was also among the favorites to direct 2012’s Skyfall and 2015’s Spectre.

The 25th James Bond movie entered development in 2016 with Sam Mendes, director of the previous two movies in the franchise, announcing that he won’t return to direct another one. Although there were some speculations that current Agent 007 Daniel Craig could follow his footsteps and leave the franchise, that didn’t happen. Craig expressed his desire to return to Bond 25 in October 2016 and then confirming his involvement in August 2017. The studio has set 8 November 2019 as the initial release date for the movie.
