]]>The People’s Choice Awards cover everything from action and comedy movies to TV, music, and social media, so there are around 40 categories in the running these days. As for the top nominees this year, Bad Bunny is the leader with seven nods, closely followed by Harry Styles and Lizzo.
When it comes to the film categories, Nope is leading the way with six nominations, but Top Gun: Maverick and Bullet Train are close behind. As for the TV nominations, the list of major contenders includes This Is Us, Euphoria, Abbott Elementary, and Saturday Night Live.
People’s Choice Awards are taking place on December 6, and SNL’s own Kenan Thompson will be in charge of hosting them for the second consecutive time.
“I’m beyond excited to host the People’s Choice Awards again this year and celebrate the incredible talent and fans that this show unites. I’m so grateful to be nominated – shoutout to the fans and congrats to all the nominees. Get ready for round two!!” said Thompson in a statement.

]]>Despite mixed reviews, the Venom franchise is a huge hit with fans and another movie is on the way. The studio is developing a follow-up to Venom: Let There Be Carnage, but they’ve yet to reveal details about this project.
Last year’s movie Ghostbusters: Afterlife did a great job reviving this franchise and there’s more where that came from. Sony is currently plotting Ghostbusters 5, but this exciting sequel is still veiled in mystery.
In addition to teasing brand-new projects, Sony also shared footage from its highly-anticipated upcoming movies. One of them was Bullet Train, a star-studded action comedy with Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, and Sandra Bullock playing key roles.
The title of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was revealed at CinemaCon, but Sony also got us super-pumped for this animated superhero movie by sharing the first 15 minutes with attendees.

]]>The action-adventure film is based on Kotaro Isaka’s Japanese novel Maria Beetle and it will be directed by David Leitch from a script by Zak Olkewicz.
Plot details and character descriptions on Bullet Train haven’t been revealed and a date hasn’t been set for production. According to sources, King will play one of four leads opposite Pitt, with King being the only woman in the group.
King rose to fame after starring in Netflix’s 2018 teen romantic comedy franchise The Kissing Booth as Elle Evans, opposite Jacob Elordi and Joel Courtney. The second installment in the franchise debuted on July 26 and a third film will launch in 2021.
In addition to The Kissing Booth, King has also been in Crazy, Stupid, Love, The Dark Knight Rises, The Conjuring, White House Down, Independence Day: Resurgence, Wish Upon, and Slender Man. King starred in The Act, a true-crime drama series, which she received an Emmy nomination for.

]]>David Leitch, the director of Deadpool 2 and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Snow, will direct the script which is based on the Japanese novel Maria Bettle by Kotaro Isaka.
The novel features five assassins that are on a fast-moving bullet train from Tokyo to Morioka with only a few stops between them. On the train, they find out that their missions aren’t related to each other. So, who will make it off the train alive, and what awaits them once they reach the terminal station?
Pitt recently won an Oscar for his role as Cliff Booth in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and since then he’s been taking his time finding his next project. He can be seen in the James Gray sci-fi drama Ad Astra which was released in 2019. Pitt’s also set to co-star with Emma Stone in Babylon which will start production in 2021.
