]]>The Hollywood Reporter reported that the series will be produced by Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin, who will work with the writer and creative director of the game, Neil Druckmann. Druckmann will help write the series and he will serve as an executive producer.
The Last of Us follows the relationship between a smuggler named Joel and a Teenager named Ellie in a post-apocalyptic world that has been ravaged by a pandemic. The 2013 Sony and Naughty Dog’s game was a critically acclaimed success with an engrossing plot.
“Neil Druckmann is without question the finest storyteller working in the video game medium, and The Last of Us is his magnum opus,” Mazin said. “Getting a chance to adapt this breathtaking work of art has been a dream of mine for years, and I’m so honored to do it in partnership with Neil.” Mazin is known to be an avid player of the game.
This is Mazin’s first TV project since Chernobyl. The limited series garnered praise for its depiction of the aftermath of the nuclear disaster in the Soviet Union in 1986. It won two Golden Globes and 10 Emmy awards.

]]>Noah Baumbach’s family drama led the way with six nods in the categories Best Drama, Best Actor in a Drama (Adam Driver), Best Actress in a Drama (Scarlett Johansson), Best-supporting Actress (Laura Dern), Best Screenplay, and Best Score.
The Irishman received a total of five nominations, and it will be competing against Marriage Story, 1917, Joker, and The Two Popes in the Best Drama category. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood also received five nods, end ended up being included in the Best Musical/Comedy field with Dolemite Is My Name, Jojo Rabbit, Knives Out, and Rocketman.
The TV field at this year’s Golden Globes is pretty colorful. The latest season of The Crown and mini-series Chernobyl and Unbelievable are leading the way with a total of four nods each. Kominsky Method, Fleabag, and Barry received three nominations each in the comedy categories.
It is also worth mentioning that Netflix dominates this year’s list with 34 nominations in the TV and Film categories. Apple TV could also be quite happy with its flag show, The Morning Show receiving 3 awards, including Best Television Series, Drama and two nominations for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Drama, for stars and executive producers Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.
The 77th Golden Globe Awards will take place on January 5th, 2020 with Ricky Gervais returning to host the ceremony for the fifth time.

]]>HBO mini-series centered on the aftermath of the disastrous explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power in 1986. It dramatized one of the worst man-made catastrophes in history by focusing on the people who caused the disaster and those who responded to it.
Chernobyl won three Primetime Emmys in the categories outstanding limited series, outstanding directing and outstanding writing in a limited series. While discussing the show backstage following their big victory, Craig Mazin made it clear they have no plans to film any more seasons.
“We told a story of a place in time and we did it pretty darn well, and it’s time to start thinking about other places and other times… Whatever we look at, whether it’s fiction or based on history, it’s relevant to who we are now and what we’re facing,” explained Mazin.
