Critics’ Choice Super Awards came back to celebrate genre movies and TV shows that are often overlooked by traditional awards shows for the third year in a row. The Oscar winner Everything Everywhere All at Once won big once again, while The Boys dominated the television categories.

Everything Everywhere was the big winner in the science fiction/fantasy field, where it picked three awards—best science fiction/fantasy movie, best actor (Ke Huy Quan), and best actress (Michelle Yeoh).

It was also a big night for Top Gun: Maverick, which picked up a total of two awards—best action movie and best actor in an action movie (Tom Cruise). The Batman also collected two awards—best superhero movie and best actor in a superhero movie (Collin Farrell). Mia Goth picked up two trophies for her performance in Pearl—best actress in a horror movie and best villain in a movie.

As for the TV field, The Boys were awarded in three categories—best superhero series, best actor in a superhero series, and best villain in a series (Antony Starr). The list of major winners also included Severance and Wednesday with two awards each. Cobra Kai won best action series, while Andor and Stranger Things shared the award for the best sci-fi/fantasy series.

It’s been three years since the Critics’ Choice Association launched a new ceremony to celebrate the best of genre film and television. Critics’ Choice Super Awards are coming back next month and the list of nominees is led by The Batman with a total of six nods.

The Batman will have to face Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, DC League of Super-Pets, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Thor: Love and Thunder for a chance to win one of the night’s biggest awards: best superhero movie.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever also did pretty great and it scored a total of five nominations. It’s closely followed by Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Bullet Train with four nods each, while RRR, Top Gun: Maverick, and Pearl managed to score three apiece.

When it comes to the television categories, The Boys is one of the main contenders with a total of four nods, including the best superhero series. Evil, House of the Dragon, and What We Do in the Shadows are also worth watching out for since they scored four nominations each.

The Critics’ Choice Super Awards are celebrating the best action, superhero, horror, science fiction, fantasy, and animated movies of the past year, and they’ll return on March 16.

A few months ago, the Critics’ Choice Association announced its decision to launch a special award ceremony dedicated to genre movies and TV shows. The inaugural ceremony took place this weekend, and the list of winners was topped by The Boys, Palm Springs, and Soul.

Hulu’s rom-com Palm Springs was named as the best science fiction/fantasy movie, beating the likes of Love and Monsters and The Vast of Night. Its lead stars Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti also picked up the acting awards in their respective categories.

Pixar’s latest film Soul was named the best-animated movie, while its stars Jamie Foxx and Tina Fey were awarded for their voiceover performances. The list of major winners in movie categories also included Birds of Prey, Da 5 Bloods, and The Invisible Man with two awards each.

When it comes to the TV categories, Amazon’s superhero satire The Boys was the absolute winner, with a total of four awards. In addition to scooping the trophy for best superhero series, its stars Antony Starr and Aya Cash picked up acting awards, while Starr was also named as the best TV villain.

The inaugural Critics’ Choice Super Awards took place on January 10th, and the virtual ceremony was broadcasted on The CW.

It’s been three years since the Critics’ Choice Association launched a new ceremony to celebrate the best of genre film and television. Critics’ Choice Super Awards are coming back next month and the list of nominees is led by The Batman with a total of six nods.

The Batman will have to face Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, DC League of Super-Pets, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Thor: Love and Thunder for a chance to win one of the night’s biggest awards: best superhero movie.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever also did pretty great and it scored a total of five nominations. It’s closely followed by Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Bullet Train with four nods each, while RRR, Top Gun: Maverick, and Pearl managed to score three apiece.

When it comes to the television categories, The Boys is one of the main contenders with a total of four nods, including the best superhero series. Evil, House of the Dragon, and What We Do in the Shadows are also worth watching out for since they scored four nominations each.

The Critics’ Choice Super Awards are celebrating the best action, superhero, horror, science fiction, fantasy, and animated movies of the past year, and they’ll return on March 16.

A few months ago, the Critics’ Choice Association announced its decision to launch a special award ceremony dedicated to genre movies and TV shows. The inaugural ceremony took place this weekend, and the list of winners was topped by The Boys, Palm Springs, and Soul.

Hulu’s rom-com Palm Springs was named as the best science fiction/fantasy movie, beating the likes of Love and Monsters and The Vast of Night. Its lead stars Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti also picked up the acting awards in their respective categories.

Pixar’s latest film Soul was named the best-animated movie, while its stars Jamie Foxx and Tina Fey were awarded for their voiceover performances. The list of major winners in movie categories also included Birds of Prey, Da 5 Bloods, and The Invisible Man with two awards each.

When it comes to the TV categories, Amazon’s superhero satire The Boys was the absolute winner, with a total of four awards. In addition to scooping the trophy for best superhero series, its stars Antony Starr and Aya Cash picked up acting awards, while Starr was also named as the best TV villain.

The inaugural Critics’ Choice Super Awards took place on January 10th, and the virtual ceremony was broadcasted on The CW.
