The Simpsons is the longest-running scripted TV series in history and it is not about to slow down. The 31st season of the animated juggernaut will premiere on Disney+ next month.

The season contains 22 episodes and it will drop in one go on the streaming platform on November 6th. It will join more than 600 episodes already available on Disney+.

As in previous seasons, the 31st season contains various celebrity guest appearances. Among others, we’ll get to hear Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, Billy Porter, Jason Momoa, John Mulaney, Joey King, Kevin Smith, Jim Parsons, Cate Blanchett, Chrissy Teigen, and Lilly Singh. John Legend and Weezer will give musical performances.

The season will also see the 30th Treehouse of Horror episode—a beloved series tradition since it’s second season. This time, the episode will also return to CGI animation as it did back in Treehouse of Horror VI in 1996. Back then Homer was transformed to 3D as an accident took him to “the real world”. Over the years the show used these episodes to experiment with different kinds of styles such as LEGO, puppetry, and even a live version.

A new series that prequels the events of 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is about to start production but as with a lot of things, the COVID-19 pandemic brings about some changes. This time the pandemic did not delay production but rather caused a big change in the crew.

Deadline reports that the show’s intended director Tony Gilroy will not sit in the chair. The show will be helmed by Black Mirror director Toby Haynes. According to some sources, the change is due to travel issues for Gilroy who lives in New York while the production takes place in the UK.

Diego Luna is set to return to his character of Cassian Andor from Rogue One. Also to star in the series are Alan Tudyk, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgard, and Kyle Soller.

Haynes will direct the first three episodes of the series and sources say he will probably direct future episodes as well. Apart from Black Mirror, Haynes directed episodes in shows such as Doctor Who, Sherlock, Being Human, Wallander, and more. Gilroy will remain the show’s showrunner, executive producer, and writer.

The show will follow the beginning of the rebellion against the Empire and it is described as a spy thriller. It will be streamed on Disney +.

It has been a long wait but phase four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is getting closer. Marvel Studios released the first trailer for WandaVision, a series that is due to premiere this year, focusing on Scarlet Witch and Vision. Judging from the trailer, we are due to a wild—if somewhat strange—ride.

As the trailer begins, we see the two characters, played by Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, living a perfect ’50s suburban life as a traditional couple, filmed in black and white. As the trailer progresses this reality starts to unveil.

Starting with a strange meeting with their neighbors, the world around them begins to change. The events of Avengers: Endgame are mentioned—along with the fact that Vision is supposed to be dead. The trailer leaves the viewers wondering what brought on this Pleasantville version of life and what will happen to the couple next.

The exact release date of WandaVision is yet to be confirmed as the trailer does not mention it and ends with a simple “coming soon”. WandaVision will consist of 6 episodes which will be streamed on Disney+.  Jac Shaeffer is serving as the series’ showrunner.

As Scarlet Witch is due to play a big role in the upcoming Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, we can expect the series’ story will lead us towards the movie’s.

Since Marvel announced the making of a She-Hulk television series last year at Disney’s D23 expo, we haven’t heard anything about the production. Now, Variety reports that the studio found the actress to lead the show in Tatiana Maslany.

Maslany is best known for her multiple roles on Orphan Black. As the series revolves around almost a dozen different women leading different lives who find out they are all clones, Maslamy has experience in portraying multiple personalities. This is a fact that can help her in the new role.

In the series, Maslany will play Jen Walters Esq., Bruce Banner’s cousin who gets an emergency blood transfusion from him and thus gets his tendency to become a mean, green, smashing machine. Unlike her cousin, Walters remains  in full control of her faculties when she transforms into She-Hulk. She can also go between her two personalities at will.

Kat Coiro is set to be the show’s director and will also act as an executive producer. Jessica gao is the showrunner of the yet to be titled series. She will also act as an executive producer and the show’s writer.
