The post Kit Harington on GoT Finale: “Not Everyone’s Going to Be Happy” appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>The most recent cast member who “slipped” about the topic was Kit Harington, who plays the character of Jon Snow on the show. Harington discussed Game of Thrones finale during his appearance at 2018 Toronto International Film Festival and hinted that there will be fans who won’t be too happy with the show’s ending.
“I think a TV series that’s spanned eight, nine years is an incredibly difficult thing to end,” –said Harington, who already finished shooting on Game of Thrones. “I think not everyone’s going to be happy, you know, and you can’t please everyone. My favorite TV shows are Sopranos, Breaking Bad, and The Wire, and they all ended in a way that…It’s never going to satisfy you.”
If we read between the lines, Harington is trying to tell us that lots of our favorite characters will end up dead, something that show has been doing to us since season one. The darker outcome would be that White Walkers end up conquering the Westeros and that all our heroes turn into undead. Unfortunately, we will just have to sit here with all these crazy ideas and wait for HBO to be kind enough an release season eight at some point in 2019.

]]>“We wrap in December and we air our first episode in April [2019].” said Williams when asked about the progress of the show. “That’s a four-month turnaround for these huge episodes. There’s a lot that goes into the final edit. You would not want to rush this season at all. We owe it to our audience and our fans to really do this final season to the best of our abilities.”
Still, the 20-year-old actress couldn’t reveal many details about her character. Instead, she said that she would want Arya to “be happy”.
“I’ve always said I wanted her to find peace.” she said. “The things that have been driving her through her story have been very bitter and twisted and aggressive. I would love for Arya to find her true self again and let go of this anger and revenge that’s accompanied her on this journey. I’d love for her to be happy.”
The last season of Game of Thrones will contain six episodes, the fewest so far. The story will feature mostly original content which is not found in the books of George R. R. Martin.
In case you are reluctant to leave the world of Westeros, don’t worry. According to reports, there are five spinoffs in development at HBO, and at least one of them will get a series order. The network recently revealed that spinoff/s would premier in 2020.

]]>HBO didn’t reveal the possible time of the year in which the final season will be aired, but it should be expected in spring, something that was a case with all but one season.
While confirming the 2019 airing date, HBO also shared some info about the directors and writers. Benioff and Weiss will be among the directors of the season, alongside David Nutter and Miguel Sapochnik. Nutter and Sapochnik directed 10 episodes of Game Of Thrones on previous occasions combined and both received Emmy Awards for Best Directing (Nutter for “Mother’s Mercy“, Sapochnik for “Battle of the Bastards“). The showrunners Benioff and Weiss are also the writers of the show’s final season, joining forces with Bryan Cogman and Dave Hill.
Filming for the eight season of the show began on October 23, 2017. Unlike previous seasons, this one will only consist of six episodes, but they will have a longer run time. Also, the material for the final season will be mostly original and based on the guidelines provided by A Song of Ice and Fire writer George R. R. Martin. Martin is currently writing the final novels in the series, The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring. It is important to note that the ending of the TV show and the novels might not be the same.

]]>“I just showed up to see [producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss] and I just happened to see people on set,” said Momoa while speaking to Entertainment Weekly. “I haven’t been over there in a long time. You just want to see your friends and you end up to make headlines going, ‘Drogo’s back!’ and I’m like, ‘He’s dead! He can’t come back, it wouldn’t work.'”
Despite the fact that he isn’t on the show anymore, Momoa is involved in the show as a fan and even managed to get some insight into the last season of Game of Thrones. He said the season will be amazing and unbelievable.
“Just knowing how amazing this season is going to be…” said the actor. “It’s going to be the greatest thing that’s ever aired on TV. It’s going to be unbelievable. It’s going to f**k up a lot of people. And it was a bummer because I’m a huge fan and I didn’t want to know what’s going on. I was like, ‘Damn, I didn’t want to know that!'”
Filming of season 8 of the show officially started on October 23, 2017. Although HBO aired one season each year since the show started, that might not be the case this time. HBO programming president Casey Bloys revealed that there is a chance that season 8, containing only six episodes, will air in 2019.
