Reaching a billion views on YouTube isn’t an easy task, but Ozuna managed to do it time and time again. He just joined J Balvin as the artist with the most YouTube videos in the billion views club after his song “Síguelo Bailando” hit this coveted number.

“Síguelo Bailando” is Ozuna’s 12th song as a lead, featured artist, or collaborator to hit one billion YouTube views. This song was featured on his debut studio album Odisea from 2017, which won him the Billboard Music Award for top Latin album after spending 46 weeks atop Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart.

The list of Ozuna’s songs with billion views on YouTube also includes “Criminal” ft. Natti Natasha, “Taki Taki” ft. DJ Snake, Selena Gomez, and Cardi B, and “Te Bote Remix” with Casper, Nio Garcia, Darell, Nicky Jam, and Bad Bunny, which all crossed two billion views, as well.

Ozuna and J Balvin collaborated on several occasions and even crossed one billion views together two times—with “Ahora Dice” ft. Chris Jedi and Arcángel and “China” ft. Anuel AA, Daddy Yankee, and Karol G.

Our favorite Latin artists gave us some pretty amazing music throughout 2020, and it’s finally time for them to reap the fruits of their labor. The list of Latin American Music Awards nominations is in, and J Balvin and Karol G are leading the way with nine nods each.

Both artists are in the running in the Artist of the Year category, alongside Bad Bunny, Daddy Yankee, Maluma, and Ozuna. They’ll be going head to head in several other categories, including song of the year and favorite urban artist.

Karol G owes most of her nominations to the success of her Nicki Minaj collaboration “Tusa”, which topped the charts in several Latin American countries. J Balvin scored most of his nods thanks to his latest studio album Colores and the Black Eyed Peas collaboration “Ritmo” from the Bad Boys for Life soundtrack.

The list of major contenders at this year’s ceremony also includes Bad Bunny with eight nominations and Ozuna with seven. The Latin American Music Awards will take place on April 15th, with Jacky Bracamontes serving as the host.

There are only a few weeks left until the MTV Video Music Awards, and the first batch of performers has been announced. Doja Cat, BTS, and J Balvin, all of whom received several nominations this year, will perform at the ceremony.

Doja Cat managed to score three nominations with her breakout hit “Say So”. BTS also scored nods in three different categories with the music video for “On”. J Balvin walked away with four nominations, including three separate entries in the Best Latin category.

The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards will take place on August 30, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. It’s still unclear how exactly the ceremony will look like, but it’s expected to feature performances from various iconic locations throughout Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island, as a way of honoring the spirit and resilience of New York.

Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande topped this year’s list of nominations with nine nods each. The two singers mostly owe their success to the chart-topping collaboration “Rain on Me”, which is in the running for seven awards, including video of the year.

The songs on J. Balvin’s latest album are named by all the colors of the rainbow, and he made sure that his music videos fully capture the essence of each. The green-tinted video for “Verde” is the latest example, and it’s probably the wildest one to date.

This Honey, I Shrunk the Kids-inspired video opens with the singer being shrunk by a leprechaun after taking one of the coins from his pot. As the guests at his house party are enjoying themselves, blissfully unaware of what happened, a miniature J. Balvin is trying to escape several big threats in an attempt to make it out alive.

Like the rest of the videos from J. Balvin’s Colores, including “Blanco,” “Morado,” and “Rojo”, this one was directed by Colin Tilley.

He described the reggaeton star as “the definition of a true collaborator” because they had in-depth discussions about the concept of each video, and said that their main goal was to “create different content that would really stand out and that the reggaetón world hadn’t really seen before.”
