A24 is keeping details under wraps, and they’ve only revealed this film will center on an iconic pop star’s return following his decades-long disappearance. The-Dream and Nile Rodgers, who collaborated on Beyonce’s “Cuff It”, will pen original songs for the film, in addition to serving as its executive producers.

The list of film’s producers includes Collin Creighton and Brad Weston for Makeready, Poppy Hanks and Jelani Johnson for Macro Film Studios, and Josh Bachove, with Charles D. King and Sara Newkirk Simon serving as executive producers.

In addition to The Bear actress Edebiri and the two-time Oscar nominee Malkovich, this film will also star Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus), Amber Midthunder (Prey), Stephanie Suganami (Power Book II: Ghost), Young Mazino (Beef), and Tatanka Means (Killers of the Flower Moon), with Juliette Lewis (Yellowjackets) in talks to join them.

Opus received an interim agreement from SAG-AFTRA to kick off production before the organization announced the end of the actors’ strike and it will mark the feature debut of its writer/director Mark Anthony Green.

Tilman Singer will be writing and directing the film. Ken Kao, Josh Rosenbaum, Markus Halberschmidt, Maria Tsigka, and Thor Bradwell serve as producers.

Also joining the cast are Sofia Boutella, Jan Bluthardt, Zita Hanrot, and Proschat Madani.

Schafer is known for her role in Euphoria, which she stars alongside Zendaya. Malkovich has more than 70 film credits and he received an Oscar nomination for Places in the Heart and In the Line of Fire. Chan was in Crazy Rich Asians, Captain Marvel, and Eternals.

The film comes from Neon, which distributed Parasite in the U.S. and recently debuted three films at the Cannes Film Festival. Their upcoming films include Flee and Spencer, starring Kristen Stewart.

No details have been revealed about Cuckoo yet, besides that it’s a horror film. Production starts in 2022.

Space Force was created by Greg Daniels and Steve Carell, who previously worked together on the set of The Office. In addition to being the show’s executive producer, Carell also plays the lead role alongside John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Diana Silvers, Lisa Kudrow, Tawny Newsome, and Jimmy O Yang.

Space Force centers on a decorated general Mark R. Naird, whose life turns upside down when he’s tasked with what seems like an impossible mission—establishing the sixth branch of the United States Armed Forces: Space Force.

Space Force premiered back in May to mixed reviews, but that didn’t stop it from being renewed. It’s joining the slate of several newly-launched Netflix comedies that have been renewed earlier this year, including The Baby-Sitters Club, Emily in Paris, and Never Have I Ever.

HBO confirmed Friday that Sharon Stone and Marilyn Manson will guest star on the forthcoming series The New Pope.

They join Jude Law who starred in the first installment as the leader of the Catholic Church and is set to reprise his role, as well as the previously announced John Malkovich.

While no further details have been divulged by the premium cabler, the previously released first-look images of Malkovich and Law, feature them both in similar papal vestments so it’s fair to assume that the sequel will feature two popes, much like the recent real-life situation that resulted in there being two living popes for the first time in centuries. From Manson’s first-image it seems that the provocative persona will portray a character very similar to his real-life self.

Other returning cast members include Cecile de France, Ludivine Sagnier, and Silvio Orlando.

“The ABC Murders is one of my great grandmother’s most unsettling and intense stories and Hercule Poirot one of her most intriguing characters,” said James Prichard, executive producer for the project and CEO of Agatha Christie Ltd. “I am humbled by the quality of cast we have lined up for the show and I am most excited to experience the unique approach John Malkovich will bring to the role in this thrilling one-off television adaptation.”

Besides Malkovich, other members of the cast will include Rupert Grint (Harry Potter), Eamon Farren (Twin Peaks), Tara Fitzgerald (Game of Thrones), and Bronwyn James (Harlots) among others.

The ABC Murders was published in 1939 and has Hercule Poirot facing a serial killer known only for leaving an ABC Railway Guide at each crime scene. Besides Poirot, Chief Poirot’s old friend Inspector Japp, Inspector Crome and Dr. Thomson are all joining in the attempt to discover the killer.

“Set in the seething, suspicious early 1930s, ABC Murders is a brutal story of violence and lies, the long shadow of the past and the slaughter to come,” said Sarah Phelps about the project. “At its center, one of the most familiar, famous characters in crime fiction. We may all think we know Poirot, but do we really know Hercule?”
