This promising project is based on Dennis McIntyre’s play of the same name about the troubled life of Italian-born painter and sculptor Amedeo Modigliani. It will take place in 1916 Paris and show Modigliani navigating a turbulent and eventful 48 hours that will become a turning point in his life.

Jerzy and Mary Kromolowski adapted the play for the big screen. Depp is set to direct and produce the film alongside Al Pacino and Barry Navidi, and he couldn’t be happier about this creative endeavor.

“The saga of Mr. Modigliani’s life is one that I’m incredibly honored and truly humbled, to bring to the screen. It was a life of great hardship, but eventual triumph – a universally human story all viewers can identify with,” said Depp in a statement.

Modigliani will mark the actor’s first directorial effort since the 1997 western The Brave. Depp played the lead role in this project alongside Marlon Brando, but it’s still unclear if he’ll take a similar approach with Modigliani or stick to only directing it.

Explaining the title, Beck said, “When Johnny and I started playing together, it really ignited our youthful spirit and creativity. We would joke about how we felt 18 again, so that just became the album title too.”

One of the tracks written by the Pirates of the Caribbean star has reportedly been inspired by the recent court case involving his ex, Amber Heard. Depp won the defamation lawsuit following a 6-week trial, with the Aquaman actress ordered to pay $10 million to her former husband.

The song is believed to be called “Sad Mother’ Parade” and includes the lyrics, ‘You’re sitting there like a dog with a seven-year itch … If I had a dime, it wouldn’t reach your hand.”

Heard has since requested that the judge declare a mistrial, alleging that one of the jurors who served on the jury was not supposed to be there.

It was presumed that the Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald actor may never work again after the damaging allegations made against him, but a Google search has given his legion of fans new hope.

A search for the forthcoming Beetlejuice sequel lists Depp’s name amongst the all-star cast that features Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and David Harbour.

The original Beetlejuice was a box office hit when it came out in 1988 and has become a cult classic over the years. Although a sequel has been in the works for more than three decades, production is finally underway with a release scheduled for 2025. Keaton is set to return as the titular character, while Ryder will reprise her role as Lydia Deetz.

If the rumor of Depp joining Beetlejuice 2 is true, it will reunite him with his long-time collaborator, Tim Burton, who will once again assume the director’s chair. It would be the pair’s 9th movie together.

The film would also be the first step in Depp getting his career back on track after the jury awarded him $15 million worth of damages in his defamation case against his ex-wife, Amber Heard.

“The jury gave me my life back,” he said following the verdict.

Heard’s attorney has confirmed that the Aquaman actress intends to appeal the decision.
