Fatal Attraction will soon be getting its TV remake and Paramount+ just gave us a taste of things to come. The first teaser trailer for this series is here and it sees Lizzy Caplan and Joshua Jackson start a dangerous affair that they can’t come back from.

Fatal Attraction draws inspiration from the 1987 film starring Michael Douglas and Glenn Close in the lead roles. Just like the original film, its new reimagining will center on Dan Gallagher, a married man whose life is turned upside down after a woman he had a brief fling with, Alex Forrest, becomes obsessed with him and doesn’t want to let go.

Paramount+ described this series as “a deep-dive reimagining of the classic psychosexual thriller and ‘80s cultural touchstone”, adding it will explore “the timeless themes of marriage and infidelity through the lens of modern attitudes toward strong women, personality disorders and coercive control.”

In addition to Caplan and Jackson in the lead role, Fatal Attraction will also star Amanda Peet, Alyssa Jirrels, Toby Huss, Reno Wilson, and Brian Goodman. Alexandra Cunningham co-created the series alongside Kevin J. Hynes, and she serves as its writer, showrunner, and executive producer.

Fatal Attraction will premiere on Paramount+ on April 30 with three episodes, with new episodes of the eight-episode season streaming weekly.

We live in the television age of reunions, revivals, and reboots, but don’t expect iconic teen drama Dawson’s Creek to head this way anytime soon. After Katie Holmes spoke unfavorably about the idea of reviving the show in some way several years ago, Joshua Jackson shared a similar sentiment during a recent interview with The Guardian.

Jackson, who played sarcastic underachiever Pacey Witter in the series, was at one point asked whether there is a chance for the Dawson’s Creek cast to reunite in a way the Friends cast did.

“I think because the Friends cast were already adults when they were doing the show, it’s less jarring to see them now,” said Jackson before deciding to squash any hopes the fans may have. “If you put our mid-40s selves together on a couch now, with our creaking backs, it might shock people. Nobody needs to hear Pacey grunting when he gets out of a chair,” he added.

Dawson’s Creek followed a group of friends through from their high school years through college. The series premiered in 1998 and ran for six seasons before wrapping up in 2003. Besides Holmes and Jackson, the teen drama also starred James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams, Mary-Margaret Humes, John Wesley Shipp, and Mary Beth Peil in the main roles.

Since wrapping up Dawson’s Creek, Joshua Jackson had notable roles in the sci-fi series Fringe and drama The Affair. His most recent work includes starring in crime miniseries Dr. Death on Peacock.

Joshua Jackson will be taking over as the lead in the upcoming Peacock series Dr. Death.

Jamie Dornan was previously announced as the lead, but he had to leave the series due to production delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Alec Baldwin and Christian Slater are still attached to the project.

Dr. Death is based on the Wondery podcast about the true story of Dr. Christopher Duntsch (Jackson), a rising star in the Dallas medical community who’s young and brilliant. Dr. Duntsch was building a neurosurgery practice until everything started changing and patients who entered his operating room left permanently maimed or dead. As victims started accumulating, neurosurgeon Robert Henderson (Baldwin) and vascular surgeon Randall Kirby (Slater) tried to stop him.

Jackson’s most known for his TV roles in The Affair, Little Fires Everywhere, Dawson’s Creek, When They See Us, and Fringe.

Dr. Death will be executive produced by Patrick McManus, Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, Taylor Latham, Hernan Lopez, and Marshall Lewy. Maggie Kiley will direct and executive produce the first two episodes with Jennifer Morrison and So Yong Kim also directing episodes.

But when Bill agrees to represent their friends in a fiery custody battle, the couple begins to fight about more than just their challenging youngest daughter, Izzy (Megan Stott).

Another series regular will exit the Showtime drama.

Joshua Jackson is saying goodbye to The Affair. The 40-year-old actor has been on the show since its beginning, starring as Cole Lockhart. Now TVLine confirms that the actor will not return for the series’ fifth and final Season. The 40-year-old actor was initially contracted for two Season and kept on signing.

The news of Jackson’s exit from the show follows news of Ruth Wilson’s exit after her character was killed off in the Season 4 finale. Wilson confirmed her exit in August saying she “did want to leave, but I’m not allowed to talk about why.”

The show’s final season is still in development, and the creative teams is still figuring out how all the characters’ stories will end. According to the outlet, Jackson might make a couple of guest appearances in the series’ final season.

The creator is Dawson’s Creek is breaking our teenage hearts. Again.

Kevin Williamson got together with cast members, James van der Beek (Dawson), Katie Holmes (Joey), Joshua Jackson (Pacey) and Michelle Williams (Jen) this week as Entertainment Weekly celebrated 20 years since the show’s premiere.

The series ended in 2003 with Joey and Pacey living as a couple in New York City (spoiler alert — sorry!)

But, it seems that not all is well as ended well, according to Williamson.

“I think Pacey and Joey got married. I think they had a family, I think there were troubles. I think they got a divorce. I think that when we meet them they’re in a very dark place.”

Though there might still be hope Jocey shippers…

“But there’s still something between them that forces them to come together and raise their children,” Williamson says. “As they seek out happiness with others, they just keep coming back to each other. And they just can’t stop that magical thing that exists between them and that bond they have. I think we would sort of have to watch them fall in love all over again as middle-aged adults.”

As for Dawson?

“I think Dawson became Spielberg. All his dreams came true. I think they shattered. I think he fell apart; I think he never really found love.”

As we said — broken hearts.
