Plot details are still being kept under wraps, and this film will have the challenging job of transporting us to the world of the hit video game Minecraft, which sold over 300 million copies worldwide.
McKinnon and Clement will be in pretty good company on the set of this project because its cast is as star-studded as it gets. Jason Momoa (Aquaman) was the first actor to be cast in this project, and he’ll be joined by Emma Myers (Wednesday), Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple), Sebastian Eugene Hansen (Just Mercy), and Jack Black (Kung Fu Panda).
Kate McKinnon is fresh off starring in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, and she’ll soon appear in Andrew Stanton’s In the Blink of an Eye. Jemaine Clement currently serves as the creator of the FX series What We Do in the Shadows, and we’ll next see him in James Cameron’s Avatar 3.

As for Billie Eilish, she’s fresh on the heels of the success of her Barbie song “What Was I Made For?”, which recently received Grammy nominations for the record and song of the year. To make the whole thing even better, she’ll take the SNL stage on December 16, alongside the SNL alum Kate McKinnon, who also starred in Barbie.
Before Rodrigo and Eilish grace the SNL stage later this month, the indie singer Noah Kahan will make his SNL debut on December 2 alongside Emma Stone, who recently starred in Poor Things and The Curse. He became an overnight sensation thanks to his hit song “Stick Season” and is currently in the running for the Grammy Award for best new artist.

The Pixar veteran Andrew Stanton, who won two Oscars for his work on Finding Nemo and WALL-E is on board as a director. Disney’s John Carter from 2012 is currently his only attempt at directing a live-action movie, but he directed episodes of Stranger Things, Legion, and Better Call Saul.
McKinnon has been busy exploring new creative endeavors since ending her historic Saturday Night Live run last season. She’s one of the show’s longest-tenured female cast members in the show’s history, and she won two Emmys for her work over the years.
McKinnon most recently starred in Judd Apatow’s The Bubble for Netflix last year, and we’ll soon get to see her in Barbie alongside Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.

]]>The actress started her stint on the comedy sketch show in 2012, making a name for herself by impersonating Hilary Clinton, Justin Bieber, Angela Merkel, and Ellen DeGeneres. She announced that she would be leaving at the end of the 47th season which concluded in May.
Having been with SNL for 10 years, she became the show’s longest tenured female cast member, surpassing her cast mates Cecily Strong and Aidy Bryant. Bryant also chose to leave at the end of last season.
“I thought about it for a very long time, and it was very, very hard,” McKinnon said of her decision to leave during an interview on Live with Kelly and Ryan. “All I ever wanted to do in my whole life was be on Saturday Night Live. So, I did, I loved it, I had the best decade, and then I was just like, my body was tired, and I felt like it was time.”
The Emmy Award winner confessed that she may not be able to watch the show’s forthcoming season which begins in September as “it’s too emo because I miss everyone so much; it’s my family.”
“I think I’m just going to take The Bachelorette and watch it,” she quipped.

The departure of the four stars marks a major shakeup for SNL, but the show is still in the safe hands with the younger generation of stars, including Heidi Gardner, Chloe Fineman, Bowen Yang, and Melissa Villaseñor.

]]>One of these projects is a Kate McKinnon-led series about Carole Baskin and the Tiger King himself, Joe Exotic. Titled Joe Exotic, the limited series is now set to air on NBC, Peacock, and USA Network with Etan Frankel (Shameless, Friday Night Lights) writing and executive producing.
Joe Exotic will center on big cat enthusiast Carole Baskin (McKinnon), who learns that Joe “Exotic” Schreibvogel is breeding cats to make money. Baskin decides to try to shut down his venture, which leads to a rivalry. But it turns out that Baskin has her own secrets and Joe will stop at nothing to expose them.
Tiger King was released on March 20 and the docuseries reached an audience of 34.3 million viewers during its first 10 days on the network.
This is one of two projects set in Tiger King world—CBS Studios and Imagine Television are working on a series based on the Texas Monthly article “Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild,” by Leif Reigstad with Nicolas Cage set to play the lead.
