Minecraft is currently shooting in New Zealand, and its ensemble is getting bigger and bigger every day. Saturday Night Live’s Kate McKinnon and Flight of the Conchords‘ Jemaine Clement are the latest stars to join the amazing ensemble of this video game adaption.

Minecraft hails from the director Jared Hess, while Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer worked on the script. Plot details are still being kept under wraps, and this film will have the challenging job of transporting us to the world of the hit video game Minecraft, which sold over 300 million copies worldwide.

McKinnon and Clement will be in pretty good company on the set of this project because its cast is as star-studded as it gets. Jason Momoa (Aquaman) was the first actor to be cast in this project, and he’ll be joined by Emma Myers (Wednesday), Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple), Sebastian Eugene Hansen (Just Mercy), and Jack Black (Kung Fu Panda).

Kate McKinnon is fresh off starring in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, and she’ll soon appear in Andrew Stanton’s In the Blink of an Eye. Jemaine Clement currently serves as the creator of the FX series What We Do in the Shadows, and we’ll next see him in James Cameron’s Avatar 3.
