The sixth album by rapper Mac Miller was released posthumously in January and it’s his best work. He rapped about his addiction, depression, loss, and existentialism. It shows the power that music has for healing.
After waiting four years for this album to arrive, fans weren’t disappointed with the catchy toons that revolve around a failed relationship. Highlights include “Blinding Lights,” “Heartless,” and “In Your Eyes.”
The singer’s second album features 11 dance anthems that were inspired by the ’70s and ’80s. Although it draws upon past eras, it’s far from outdated and it’s the high-energy Studio 54 boost we can all use right now.
Apple’s first albums since 2012 happens to be our favorite and it’s a look inside the singer’s brain that has the piano solos she’s famous for as well as yelling, murmuring, and conversations all done over kitchen instruments and animal sounds. It’s not as polished as most albums on this list, but that’s what makes it stand out.

]]>The family of the late rapper announced Wednesday that his posthumous album Circles will be released next Friday.
The announcement shared via Miller’s official Instagram page revealed that when he died in September 2018, he was in the process of a companion album to Swimming with Jon Brion. Brion finished the record after Miller’s death.
This is a complicated process that has no right answer,” the announcement from Miller’s family reads. “We simply know that it was important to Malcolm for the world to hear it…Thank you to all the fans who’ve supported him unconditionally through the years. We miss him. We are left to imagine where Malcolm was going and to appreciate where he was. We hope you take the time to listen. The look on his face when everyone was listening said it all.”
The new album titled Circles will drop January 17.

]]>The “God is a Woman” singer let her fans know that she will be going dark on social media for a while as she deals with changes taking place in her personal life.
In early September, her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller passed away from a drug overdose at the age of 26. In addition, last week it was announced that she and fiancé, Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson, were ending their 4-month long engagement.
In an Instagram story, the 25-year-old said, “Time to say bye bye to the internet for just a lil bit. it’s hard not to bump news n stuff that I’m not tryna to see. It’s very sad and we’re all trying very hard to keep going. Love u. and thank u for being here always.”
Ariana deleted her story not long after, but we hope she is in a good place.

]]>The LA Count Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner announced in a statement:
“The music artist known as Mac Miller died today in his Studio City home. In the late morning of September 7, Malcolm McCormick was found unresponsive…. authorities were called and Miller was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:51 (18:51 GMT).”
The rapper, whose birth name is Malcolm James McCormick, topped the charts with his debut album in 2011. His latest album ‘Swimming’ was released in August. Collaborations with Thundercat and John Mayer were featured on the record.
Hundreds of fans and his fellow artists have been paying tribute to the late rapper over social media.
Miss Elliot tweeted: “I’m so saddened to hear about @MacMiller … such a kind spirit. Sending prayers for strength for his family & friends & fans during this difficult time.”
Chance the Rapper said: “Mac Miller took me on my second tour ever. But beyond helping me launch my career he was one of the sweetest guys I ever knew. Great man. I loved him for real. Im completely broken. God bless him.”

Grande and Miller collaborated early in their careers with Miller being featured on Grande’s 2013’s track “The Way.” They officially began dating in 2016.
Grande recently announced her fourth studio album will be titled Sweetener with a release date scheduled for summer of 2018. She also presented a leading single from the album, “No Tears Left to Cry.”
Miller’s latest music effort was the 2016’s album The Divine Feminine, which ended up receiving generally positive reviews from the critics. It also had a strong commercial performance, debuting at the number two on US Billboard 200.
