So far, 2020 has been a great year for music fans. Many of the albums released this year have been the best albums of singers’ careers. Halsey, Bad Bunny, Dua Lipa, Childish Gambino, and Fiona Apple’s records have been epic and new artists have also made a huge impact on the music industry. Here are the top five albums of the year so far.

Manic, Halsey

The singer’s third album showcases her songwriting ability and her emotional hits are raw showing what it’s like to be a woman in today’s society. Her songs feature topics such as motherhood and morality with a hint of rock and pop.

Circles, Mac Miller

The sixth album by rapper Mac Miller was released posthumously in January and it’s his best work. He rapped about his addiction, depression, loss, and existentialism. It shows the power that music has for healing.

After Hours, The Weeknd

After waiting four years for this album to arrive, fans weren’t disappointed with the catchy toons that revolve around a failed relationship. Highlights include “Blinding Lights,” “Heartless,” and “In Your Eyes.”

Future Nostalgia, Dua Lipa

The singer’s second album features 11 dance anthems that were inspired by the ’70s and ’80s. Although it draws upon past eras, it’s far from outdated and it’s the high-energy Studio 54 boost we can all use right now.

Fetch the Bolt Cutters, Fiona Apple

Apple’s first albums since 2012 happens to be our favorite and it’s a look inside the singer’s brain that has the piano solos she’s famous for as well as yelling, murmuring, and conversations all done over kitchen instruments and animal sounds. It’s not as polished as most albums on this list, but that’s what makes it stand out.
